Demons not only can lie but I believe that's all they do. There is no truth in them. But then....You don't even have to talk to them. You would be a fool to try to have a conversation with them, they would turn you every way but loose. Portals are a fact of life. That's my point. Do we use them? No. Personally, I don't think our flesh and blood bodies would survive a crossing through a portal. And again....What would you do after you crossed? You don't belong there.
