Your logic could be used about those who believe in tongues or do not believe in tongues alone with many other things discussed/debated on this forum.

There are a lot of good, very sincere, and godly people who get caught up in cults. I'm not suggesting we write off people in these groups; but we shouldn't be afraid to call it what it is.
It all hinges on a person's definition of "cult." I use it to mean a group that does not believe in Jesus as God and deny the blood atonement. By this definition the KJV only people I know are not a "cult."

Bing though defines cult as "a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister." By that definition you are probably right! ;)

If we use Bing's definition many, even most religious groups would be labeled cults.

In fact, just in our area here there are some churches that have KJV only on their signs by the main highway.

I don't know that I have directly seen a statement of faith with KJV only in it, but I am quite certain some groups have it in there.
Well that's good. People that agree with them can find them. People who don't can avoid them. See it works out. :)

There are over 10,000 Independent Baptist churches not associated with the Southern Baptist Convention nor any other group.
Most are KJ only, while teaching the same doctrines most Baptist teach.
Would you label all of these a cult?

My understanding of cults is that—among other things—they exercise mind control. They isolate the members of the cult and brainwash them into accepting the cult's dogma, regardless of how irrational or contrary to reality. This is one of the things I look for in cults.

KJV onlyism qualifies in my opinion. And if a church discourages all but KJV onlyists, this fosters isolation and group think.

If their "statement" says KJV 1611 only, I run the other way; it's a cult.

Why do that..I did not say............only...why did you ad it? I would have put ...only...in the sentence had I wished.
That does give your credibility no foundation........for sure.

You said: "If a .....'statement of faith'... does not accept the KJV 1611 edition as God's word...better pass it."

I simply responded to what you said. If they must accept the KJV 1611 that sure sounds like onlyism to me.

A clear falsehood you represent. I am disappointed in you.

As a main guide....YES.

What Bible(s) do you use? I am getting the feeling that yours is one of the ...new age religion ones....?
Have a blessed day. I don't want to spend my day in pointless debate.

And that is actually a good thing, provided we ignore the bizarre fringe ideas, and stick to the facts.

A cult is a group that does not teach the gospel. The gospel is the good news of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul said if any preach any other gospel let them be accursed.

I think all six listed in the first post preach the "gospel", but they do have different doctrinal statements.

But I am with you in agreeing that denominations can be and are a problem: when doctrine is put before the Word. But that to me is different than a "cult".
While they have even more reasons for being cults, the OP gives ample reasons. These cults are not necessary, forsake them utterly just like they forsook the Lord for the sake of their doctrines. All you need is God and also the Bible. It is not required by God to be in bondage to the houses of Sodom and Egypt.
