Reading the gospels, including Mathew Chapter 2, it got me thinking about how much of mankind sets store by plotting the positions of the stars and planets.
The wise men who went to seek the newborn Christ did just that. Does this mean that many things are influenced in our lives by the stars?
I always thought it was just a bit of fun or even a con, but here it seems there is much more to the art of astrology. A basis of truth even.
the word of God states that things created in heaven are for a sign. Genesis 1:14 says :

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;

Signs and seasons they are two different things here .

Jesus said the Moon shall be turned to Blood and the Sun will not give off her light the Heavens shall be shaken .

all are signs Jesus said in Matthew 24. BUT that is not to worship them as it is with horoscopes, and some astrology and Postmodernism.

If you think about astronomy as a measure of appointed times, the "star" of Bethlehem indicated the time of High Nun (a hevrew word that means son. pronounced 'noon'). Astrologists attempts to duplicate this without any qualification of omnipotent omniscient omnipresence, except for the implied (illegitimate) claim to it.

Them?
You're with the woke brigade too?
No, man. We don’t know if the OP is a man or woman. It says MaryM but there’s no way to tell. The nature and tone of this poster doesn’t seem like an inquisitive unknowing woman.
Woke Brigade? What the heck?

She put her name as Mary, so we take things at face-value on the internet.
There's a lot of things we can't tell on the internet. Like for example, one user opening 10 accounts after they're banned.
We don't know why people do the things they do, but in this case we know that this person chose her username to be Mary, so based on that, we follow with the proper language usage.

Oh okay. So you’re taking this question seriously? I wonder what kind of life it must be to be seriously concerned and anxious over something like a horoscope? Obviously there’s nothing serious going on in this person’s life, that warrants a question about furthering their walk with God in order to have a spiritual impact on those around her? I suppose that encouraging a poster to seek deeper things of God would paint me out as the enemy.

Maybe you need to be more at peace that other people don't see life and questions the same way as you?
Life with all its diversity completes the rainbow of God's creation in people's personalities, understanding and depth.
So you are part of this diversity, but don't demand uniformity.
Have you thought about that?

Yeah, last night I was up pondering this. I thought “You know I want God to work in my family and help them succeed, but what about horoscopes? And what if wrestling is real?!”

Looks like you haven't considered anything outside of your own experience.
Well, i hope some day you find peace then.

What do you mean by “find peace” outside of feeling an urgency to exhort others to seek God and begin helping others and having and impact!
Finding peace in knowing that people are different from you.
Maybe for the rest of your life you will encounter people who will ask you questions about the horoscope or anything you may find annoying.
What are you gonna do? You gonna freak out?

Mary, if you want to go after horoscopes then go for it.

It’s a forum bro. Get real. You don’t know who this person is. I feel more confident in posters in the prayer request forum than this. Sometimes these threads are so obviously trolling that it’s baffling. I guess the real question would be “If I claim to have such discernment, then why am I even entertaining it?”

Moving on..,

Yeah exactly, take your own advice and move on. It's a forum.

Hi @MaryM, years ago I was into astrology and could have had a lucrative business doing charts. I obviously didn't know the Lord as I am growing to now. I started to notice how it turned from fun and games to foretelling rough times for people. I saw how dreadful it was for anyone to put faith in their charts rather than God. Have you ever wondered where the planets get their names? I did and found these awesome Scriptures that seem like they could relate to the powers that turned away from God for their self-renown instead;
Jude 1:6
And the angels who did not stay within their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling--these He has kept in eternal chains under darkness, bound for judgment on that great day.
Jude 1:13
They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shameful deeds; wandering stars for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever.
MaryM, it's good to ask questions and find truth🌹🙏

I am not a troll by the way. I read the Bible, I am a Christian and assume I can share my thoughts here.

I know you're not a troll Mary and i've always appreciated your topics which show depth and understanding.
I have also read about some hardships you had to deal with your life so your questions come from a solid place so keep going in the search. I also wrestle with a lot of questions too.

God bless you.
