Jesus is alive and well :)

The key to forgiveness is repentance. The key to repentance is conviction of sin. It is the Holy Spirit
of God Who convicts of sin. When a person continually rejects this work of the Holy Spirit of God,

they cannot come to a place of repentance for their rebellion against God, and they cannot lay
down their opposition to Him. They reject the grace of God and remain in their sins.
wonderfully put

When a person continually rejects this work of the Holy Spirit of God,

thats just what they were doing denying the work of the holy spirit in Christ

“Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them……(he explains and then concludes )

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:22-25, 31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

you nailed what blasphemy is they were not acknolwedging the works of the Holy Ghost that was being done to convince the people of Christ , and the Pharisees were subverting the works of the holy ghosts witness to them

“ he’s working by a demon “ which would have been intended and created great doubt just as they were starting to believe

such a good post

Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, I guess? I think gotquestions.org's position is that it cannot be done today but if I'm correct when reading Matthew and Mark I guess it seems to me like maybe anyone could do it at any time. I think gotquestions.org's position might be that since Jesus is not on the earth it is not possible to do today (along with other reasons possibly).
I believe we need to find the answers on our own. Gotquestions is great site yet they are not always right. Like us they read study pray and then write what they believe. Everything Christ did while walking on this earth He is still doing today. Christ was fully man with the holy Spirit with out measure. The 12/120/3000 and on. Blind see deaf hear blah blah blah.

Christ said " but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. " So it still can be done today. Who was Christ walking to? Pharisees that say they knew God

So the sweet holy Spirit is still working today and some believers make fun of Him by making fun of those He works through.

Go to the verse that has the unpardonable sin in it (or verses)

Think about who is talking to who.

If the Pharisees are the ones doing it.. they aren't believers. Therefore you do not apply it to believers.

Just have a read of the context.

From what I have read.. it's rejecting the means of getting salvation to begin with. Not something a believer does.

Blasphemy against the HOLY SPIRIT IMO, It's like looking at the color red and knowing that It's red but deciding that It's blue until you REALLY do believe It's blue IOW you reject truth and there Is no conviction anymore.IE atheist

The unpardonable sin can only be committed by God's elect when they are delivered up before Satan to testify against him. Satan comes first, before Jesus, at the 6th trump claiming to be God as written in II Thes 2:3-4. Jesus returns at the 7th or last trump after the workings of Satan to overthrow him. I Cor 15:51-54 When God's elect are delivered up before Satan, they are not to premeditate what they will say but at that moment, they are to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through them as written in Mark 13:9-11. Failure to allow or resist the Holy Spirit to speak through you when delivered up before Satan is the unforgivable sin. Only God's elect can commit this sin when Satan is on earth but I don't think it will ever happen because they love the Lord and know Satan is a fake.
