I don't agree that has anything to do with respect or disrespect. They are just lies. I doubt God is any more surprised at their sins as He is about ours.
No problem...we can agree to disagree on this issue.

I'm pretty sure God is not surprised by anything, but that don't mean he likes their sins anymore than he does ours, either....just so you know.

And I would be careful not to speak for God. He mentions nothing in Scripture about showing respect for the dead.. or the living. Oh, except that wives are supposed to respect their husbands.
Now this is just getting petty...What is the problem?

Seems you want to somehow justify disrespecting the dead in the Lord. You're not going to be able to do that by using the word of God.

It is what it is!

Just so I know? He hates sin. All of it. Hence... Jesus.

LOL. Justify disrespecting the dead in the Lord? I have no idea what that even means. It's not even possible to disrespect the dead. I have nothing to do with the dead. Nor do I ever speak about them. Not interested. That was a serious stretch.

Oh wait, I do actually talk about my dead parents occasionally.. even about how abusive they were. That isn't disrespect, that is me working out my own pain. But you might think that is disrespecting them. Am I right? Don't bother answering. I don't even remotely relate to you on this one.

Well, there is something we agree on, then!...lol
I'm sure we agree on all things biblical. When you veer outside of that and make stuff up because of how you feel... not so much. I can't ever go down that path with you.

What on earth is going on in your mind?

This all started about not disrespecting Mary or any of God's children dead or alive and has morphed into God only knows what???

This is your hang up not mine.... I actually even tried to ignore it earlier, but you continued to goad me into it. Sorry though, I'm going to have to cut the line right here....This has already led to way too much foolishness.

You can do as you wish....just leave me out of it.

Let it go, read the scripture, and walk in the Spirit, and I'm sure you'll find the right answer.

It's because you can't disrespect the dead... period. That is just your wild imagination.

I do. I'm not looking for answers regarding respect for the dead. I was hoping your would learn something. It's fine. Many people live their "spiritual" lives according to their emotions instead of God's word.

I'm really not interested in this pettiness. Thanks though.

We have completely derailed this thread with this foolishness.

I looked back and saw that you said you were once a Catholic. We'll glad your eye's have been opened. But just because you once worshipped, praised, and prayed to the dead doesn't mean you should now disrespect the dead in the Lord. They are dead and don't know about it, but God does, though, right.

In my opinion...this seems to be your hang up.

Again, I'm not interested in disrespecting any of God's children...dead or alive.

And that's not an emotion... that is a matter of fact and commonsense.

I actually never prayed to the dead. I was just told to.

I didn't "used to be Catholic". I was raised in that cult without my consent. I was never a Catholic. I was, however, brainwashed and abused.

Again, it isn't possible to disrespect the dead. That is just an opinion that is not supported by the Word of God.

Ok, good.

Agree to disagree. You can read the scripture in Amos that I linked and come to your own conclusion about it or not. Sorry but I'm finished with this for real.

God bless you:)

No need to apologize. You can choose to not respond at any time. You never actually answered the question, but I know why. You can't.
God bless you, too.

If you are born again, then when you read 1 Corinthians 1:30 that teaches you that Jesus is sanctification, you will recognize this as the same thing as becoming a "new creation in Christ".
Yes. And that new creature in Christ must behave and act as a new creature in Christ. This is called "the walk of the believer" where you walk the talk.

Must behave? Anyone can behave a certain way. Many people who deny Christ live lives full of joy, love and sacrifice.

I wanted to address one comment you made about what the "Jews" have written about Mary. You seem to think that is disrespectful. No. It's just what they believe. They also don't believe Jesus is the Messiah they have been waiting for. This isn't disrespect. It is unbelief. If anything, what they write about Jesus is a million times more disrespectful than what they write about Mary.. if you are taking the disrespect angle.

If all you want out of life today is salvation for after we leave this world, then all you need is faith and enough obedience to not willfully sin. If you have faith in all Christ offers enough to follow Him, life in both this world and the world to come becomes much fuller and wonderful.

Well Blik, all we need is Faith in Christ, and that is simply it.

Plus, it should be noted, that All Christians though have willfully sinned after their salvation.
