You are right. Just as I said above in my post which you quoted

You don't even know what you are saying and doing. You are serving yourself
you have no interest in
these 15 year olds. You have more an interest in professing yourself

Things. These are things that you are professing. This young girl went into a supposed church who should know who and what they glorify but instead she saw disorder and confusion

and that is not of GOD

man you sure are one big ole puff of hot air and also very rude

I have been in leadership of one kind or another since I am 20 years old...have counselled, prayed with and loved many with God's love and helped people

my biggest concern for people...which I believe is from God...is helping those who are already saved, to grow in the Lord...that is the desire in my heart...I care very very much about that because I know what it is like not to have the deep roots we need

I have taught in Sunday School, sung all over the place, led worship, been a camp counsellor, prayed with those who needed deliverance from demons and saw a big change in their lives, and lots more besides

but you know, like Paul, I could brag...but that is probably enough...

you are a distraction and seem to want to argue with everyone here...which means you are puffed up

I cannot express the distaste I have for your attitude

I won't answer you again...I think its' plain who has the lack of desire or want of love for those God's heart longs for

That comment makes no sense to what I said.
I think she is implying that you aren't giving God the glory for his salvation but are focusing instead on the spiritual gifts that helped point him to Chrsit. Personally, I don't think that is the case. I think you were just making a point that God can use spiritual gifts to affect someone and you used this man's story as an example.

I'm sorry to hear that:( It seems like they said those things to you because they were jealous of your musical ability.
Maybe but I think people feel they need to humble you, even though the Bible says "humble yourselves" I got use to hearing it. Its a pity that people love to bring others down and criticize. But there were many lovely people and the were the majority by far.

You know when I traveled certain people would come up to me after the service and say arrogantly "you couldn't even do this without God,without the Holy Spirit" Sometimes it seemed they were trying to humble me. I know you're using it in the right context. Sometimes Id smile and say yes thats is true. But when some got in my face Id say "what you do not know is that I was struck with an illness at the age of 16. I have terrible pain everyday of my life. I deal with bouts severe dizziness and so I sit and sing from a chair. Many times I have to be helped to the stage. And yet most people that know me dont know what I suffer. So you dont have to tell me about the power of the Holy Spirit,or that I cant do this alone and need Gods help. You dont understand how much I need Gods help to do what I do." Usually said person would go away embarrassed. There is a song "In Christ Alone" my source of strength is definitely in Christ Alone.

I did not know this Kayla

awesome...I am such a healthy horse I forget that it is not always so for others

I will keep you in prayer...hugs!!!!

Elisabet

Pray for your friends. That GOD protect them, that HE guard their hearts and their minds in CHRIST JESUS that they may "grow up" into their HOLY SALVATION understanding that HE alone is the SOURCE of our SALVATION

I pray that they are being properly fed so that they can easily discern the difference between PURE FOOD that feeds from what does not feed

Elisabet I hope you will read the Word and pray. Ask God to show you if this is true or not. He can and will answer. Find out for yourself, pray and ask His guidance with an open heart. He will never steer you wrong.

So, are you trying to say that the people who have never experienced these things aren't easily moved by the Holy Spirit? (please explain more because i still don't really understand)

what i am asking is, are those things really coming from the Holy Spirit? When a priest pushes you down and you suddenly move uncontrollably, is it because of the Holy Spirit?

most churches my friends attend still have a pretty clear order, but this order looks like a concert (for me). People are allowed to dance, jump, and give applause at the end of the song. They usually cry and shout and do all those concert things in some songs. Besides, they have this (strange) ritual of falling down and moving uncontrollably and claim that it is done by the Holy Spirit

i dont know, but deep down, my heart says that it is not what the Bible means.
There is a real genuine power that comes from the Holy Ghost, but there are also people who misuse or misrepresent the power. I enjoy going to Pentecostal and Holiness churches when the real power of the Holy Ghost is there…But I have also been to churches where it is scary because it appears people are just faking the whole thing.

This is where discernment is needed. I have prayed every day since I was a child to never be misled or deceived so if I am in a church and I get a bad feeling, I do not involve myself with what is going on there. God will not let us be deceived if we pray for his guidance.

Now as for the church you are talking about, I cannot say exactly as to what is going on there. But I will say that the Holy Ghost don’t need men to push people down or slap the power into someone else or any such thing.

The main thing is discernment, and if you have a bad feeling about what is going on in a church, then it may be time to find a new church.

Very well said, I found rep to spread. All must be done in order and balance.

Quote "Unless you can offer a third alternative."

We have in the Word, which you dismiss.

That is simply mean and a personal attack.

I never dismiss the word of God. I may not accept the charismatic or Pentecostal interpretation of the word of God but I never discount Gods word.

The reason I stand against tongues is because the speakers do not align with Gods word. The Holy Spirit is not involved with anything that does not align with Gods word. Gods word clearly declares that three sign gifts will cease. 1 Cor 13:8. It is the Pentecostal and charismatic crowd that dismisses Gods word.
Quote "Only you can answer that question."

I dont have to the answer the question,I know what I believe and I know what the Word says.

You need not answer to me nor do I expect you to endeavor to answer me.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

As told this before. I have a pastor friend that got saved because of tongues. He heard his native tongue one Sunday he was passing a church. He went into the church and the woman speaking was telling him how to be saved in his own language .He got saved and became a pastor in Canada. He has about a thousand people in his church now. Was that a lying spirit?
Did other people in that church speak the language of him?

Seeing God is no longer bringing any new revelations as His interpretation after any manner to include tongues. It would seem he heard sounds that that drew him into the building.

I also have experienced that walking past that kind of denomination..... And then the woman spoke to him in a familiar language on how to be saved. Otherwise if she did not speak the same language how could they reason together? How would he answer her if the Holy Spirit did not interpret his tongue and she could respond?

His spiritual gifts are two fold edifying. Both accomplished by the same mutual faith of Christ, never to edify or comfort one.

If the interpretation as a revelation of God does not work in both the speaker the hearer and vice versa how shall it be known what is spoken of by either?

Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 1Co 14:6

Quote "That is simply mean and a personal attack."

That is no worse an attack then you telling me what I am doing is of my own self. We have never had words before. It seems I have hit a nerve. I dont have a pentecostal spin on anything and that is diminishing me as if Im not smart enough to understand what the Word is saying.

1 Cor 13-8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

It says tongues will cease,it does not say when. This is talking about love, not tongues. Love never fails. All things will pass away but love remains. Will. When?

9.9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.

12.12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Has knowledge ceased? We know according to Revelations that prophesy has not yet ceased so why tongues?

Rev 11:3-

3And I will empower my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for a thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

1 Cor.-14:39 So then, brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid anyone from speaking in tongues.

I know that I probably shouldn't even involve myself in this...but I am sorry, I have to say this. I have watched as you have attacked this lady for her beliefs which are clearly stated in the Bible. The Word of God is the Word of God, sir...you do not have to believe no one is forcing it upon you. The thing about it is though, you seem to want to take your opinions and force them on others...

And yes, the word of God is a two edged sword...it cuts both ways...so I try to be careful of what I say to others.
