I believe it bends over backwards to draw people in and ends up compromising the Gospel message in the process.
Christian version of PC.

Seeker sensitive movement is typically all about compromise, filling seats, looking impressive. The role of the church is to train disciples to be witnesses and to equip Christians to bring others to Christ. Churches whose emphasis is on watering down the gospel to make it less offensive to draw more non-Christians in are not really biblical, in my personal opinion.
If we pack the church with non-Christians and water down salvation messages where are the Christians supposed to fellowship, sharpen each other, grow and learn?
Personally i would never go to a seeker sensitive church.

Thanks for the replies. Secular hermit, It was more of a Church service geared for non believers or basically to present the Gospel in a user friendly environment, with dramas and more of a performance based music than really praise and worship. It was my first church, but the more i study the Bible im wondering if Church is mainly supposed to be for believers, but I could be wrong. I was on the music team actually and in planning meetings they would not allow us to play any songs that mention the blood, which I thought was odd. Or they dont seem to mention Jesus very often just mainly God. one of my friends called it Christian light. There are some wonderful believers there, the more I studied I was tending to agree with the responses so far, so I left.

the opposite is just as bad.
I've been to several congregations that feel more like a witch hunters meeting than an assembly of redeemed sinners.

I would suggest it is more biblical than a website that allows abuse of others and plenty of hersey.
Not sure why you think here would give you the answer.
They have their reasons for doing it. Do you think their reasons are Biblical? You either agree with it or disagree. Others will come with their own agendas and speak out of those agendas rather than any real biblical basis (just like most of what is on here).

That would pretty much seal the deal for me, I'd be out the door.

you sound hurt.
pm me if you need to let it out.

don't feel so down about the debates. debates shouldn't get emotional or personal.
If they do, then the integrity of the debate is lost.
It happens, but there is always growth that can come from fellowship with others, and talking about the Word,
even if you don't seem to agree.

Thanks for your descrption.
This is closer to what a church should be about...

Acts 2:42 and they were continuing stedfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers.

here is how you tell:

Jesus preached 3.5 yeasrs and ended up with 12 true dsiciples

the disciples preached and taught for 40 days and had all the holy spirit and 3000 were baptisesd.

Modern false movements have 4000 a day to 12 thousand a day

these wre the wide road christians who are
1. Not been baptized
2. have not repented
3. Have not forsaken their sins
4. Have not made restituion
5. have no interest in changing anything in our lives.

These are the wide road congregations, and will be surprised later.

However, God can, and does, use any and everything, including a donkey, to accomplish his purposes.

Then as the believer matures, he moves on to what is more Biblical.
