That makes sense with regards to agnostics versus athiests.

So athiests believe there is no God, but can't be sure and agnostics believe that they simply can't be sure.

In regards to being Christian, or at least those who have truly encountered God, I would say that they can know for certain that He exists, because He revealed Himself to them. It is like meeting Mr. Smith from Zimbabwe. You know He exists, because you met him. However if you never met him, you could strongly believe he doesn't exist or just simply say you don't know if he exists.

Did you know there are many testimonies of Muslims converting to Christianity, because Christ revealed Himself to them in a dream? Dreams don't convert people from a religion, that in some countries, will kill them for that conversion unless they truly encountered God and could therefore say, I KNOW He is real.
So if I ask, how did this God reveal himself to you? If it were via a dream, then surely we as a species from all the various medical investigation, understand that dreams are nothing more that the brain processing acquired information in the waking hours. The electrical activity jumps around the brain creating seemingly random imagery which could last a minute or a lifetime due to the processing speed of our brains.

A dream as a reliable source of evidence is therefore no more substantial than a book compiled from writings over 2000 years ago to the logical mind of a theist. To answer the courtroom analogy, if a person makes a claim then of course it is in dispute. If 3 people make similar yet different claims, it is still in dispute. If there is physical evidence in the form of forensic or cctv then the claim ceases to be in dispute.

Kerry, surely you must realise that the believe or burn threat can have no effect on people who do not believe in a god, devil or hell. Just because this may have scared you into line as a child I'm sure we and your fellow christians would prefer the absence of your manic street preaching. To CC, if you tolerate this, then your children will be next :p

When they say they don't believe in God what they are saying is they reject God and His son Jesus.
In order to reject God and His Son Jesus you have to beleive they exist otherwise they could not be rejected.
Also they have made a choice not to beleive in God and His Son Jesus.
In order to choose not to beleive there first has to be something or someone to not believe in.
God and His Son Jesus.

And who says God can not use and even transcend the electrical impulses of dreams or of any moment in our lives to bring us to Him?

You can choose to believe on electrical impulses only, and I can choose to believe on electrical impulses and something much more. =)

That a virgin should conceive and bring forth a man-child, this was indeed a new thing, a strange thing, a wonderful thing, a thing that was never thought of, never heard of, never read of, from the creation of the world to that very day. So Isa. 43:19 (Thomas Brooks - 1608-1680)

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14 - NASB)

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). (Matthew 1:22-23 NIV).

The prophet, Isaiah, is dated in the 8th Century B.C. (Before Christ). Fulfilled prophecy is strong evidence to support the unique distinctives of Jesus Christ.
I offer to you the greek pagen mythology of Dionysus and the Roman Bacchus. Notice any similarities from artwork and writings which existed 200 years before the birth of Christ.

Then that will be somthing I create through my imagination and no basis in reality. In other words, a fallacy based on the desire to want it to be more. We are no longer in the age where such things are a mystery which need mystical explanations.

It was meant to be.
Just like not believing in God is convoluted and illogical.
Please tell me what is logical about virgin births, talking animals, giants, 500 year old men and dead people coming back to life?

Then what does it matter to you what I believe? According to you everyone has nothing but oblivion to look forward to. =)

When you have no faith and no God all of these things are illogical.
On the other hand since my God is the all powerfull creator of heaven and earth these are all simple jobs for Him.

No, they have every day of their lives before their deaths to look forward to. Life is precious because it is so fragile and fleeting.

Is that case you must also hold to be true the giant invisible pink unicorn in the sky? For it within his power to have created that also. Tooth fairy? yep that also.

Life is precious, so precious in fact that, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

Yet you will reject the giver of your precious and fleeting life?
You will live forever somewhere. It's vain hope that you will just take a dirt nap.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment

How do we know he's pink if he is invisible?

Also I quit believing in the tooth fairy when I got ripped off by him.

If tooth fairies were in the bible then everyone here would claim their existence to be true.

Once again, the only thing you quote to support this claim is writings from the bible. Please try to understand, I have read the bible and find it to be an unsubstantial source of evidence as I have stated in the past. With stories which been written by second hand account, compiled and translated so many times that were it to be entered as evidence in a trial it would be dismissed as unreliable. Whether you want to look a the alternative views of the Koran or Torah which are all of the same period or the amalgamation of stories from Greek, Sumerian and Roman Pagen Mythology. It's a lovely story (in places) with some nice ideas (in places) but that does not make it authentic.

You do realize that the position you take does require a lot of faith given the tremendous abundance of evidence in favor of a creator immense in intelligence and power.
I would venture it requires much more faith not to believe in God the creator.
