“And I (Jesus) will pray (to) the Father, and He will give you another Helper,
that He may abide with you forever -- the Spirit of truth …
… you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
… If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him,
and We (all 3) will come to him and make Our home with him.
… But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
(John 14:16-26).

The Greek word here for "another" is "allos" meaning "another of the same kind" (ref: Vine).
So, the Holy Spirit is another Person of the Trinity (like God the Son).
It says all 3 Persons of the Triune God will come to be with the faithful believer.
But only the Holy Spirit will remain in him/her forever.
And only the Holy Spirit will be the One doing the teaching.
Interesting, what?

Act2:38 be babtized in the name of Jesus and you shall recieve the gift of the holy ghost.
Whatsoever you do in word or deed,do in the name of jesus. We must be babtized of the
water and the spirit to be born again. So we can see the kingdom of heaven. God is a spirit,
Through Jesus we recieve the gift of the holy ghost.

Friends, The two best passages on the Holy Trinity:
1. Matthew 28:19 NKJV
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ...
2. John 15:26 NKJV
But when the Helper comes, Whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth Who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

God bless you in Christ Jesus: AMEN.

Bombs Away! ... Are you saying one needs to be baptised in the Holy Spirit to be born again?

I think another good verse is 1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

No the bible does john3:3-8
3-verily verily i say unto thee,Except a man be born again,he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4-Nicodemus said, how can a man be born whe he is old?Can he enter his mothers womb a second
time,and be born?
5-Jesus answered,Verily, verily I say unto thee,Except a man be born of the water and of the spirit
he cannot enter the kingdom of God
6-That wich is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
7-Marvel not that I said this unto thee you must be born again.
8-the wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence
it cometh, and wither it goeth; so is every one that is born of the spirit

I think the whole NT is the best testament to the Trinity.

The Trinity is very important. However, I believe the deity of Jesus may be a more important issue.

(by the way, 1 John 5:7 isn't in the earliest manuscripts, so you can't use that as "proof." There are many other texts that "prove" it better.)

Isaiah 48
“Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called;
I am He, I am the first, I am also the last.

13“Surely My hand founded the earth,
And My right hand spread out the heavens;
When I call to them, they stand together.
14“Assemble, all of you, and listen!
Who among them has declared these things?
The LORD loves him; he will carry out His good pleasure on Babylon,
And His arm will be against the Chaldeans.
15“I, even I, have spoken; indeed I have called him,
I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful. 16“Come near to Me, listen to this:
From the first I have not spoken in secret,
From the time it took place, I was there.
And now the Lord GOD has sent Me, and His Spirit.”

I DO beleive that THIS is the Trinity right here.

This is all Three at the same time.

After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased." (Matthew 3:16-17 NASB)

Ephesians 4:4-6
(4) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
(5) One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
(6) One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Baptism in water will not save you. It will get you wet. baptism of the HS is essential. But it is not something we do. It happens spiritually the moment we are saved. It is done by God himself.

Other than this. I like all the verses being shown. They are awsome

[/QUOTE]No I dont get it?????

Jesus will pray to the Father to send another helper - The holy spirit (the spirit of truth)

...and we will come to him and make our home with him.....Jesus and the Father. (two of them)

Everything comes from the Father. Jesus is the Word of God. God has put his son Jesus in charge. Jesus asks the Father to send us this gift, the spirit of truth, so that we may understand the scriptures and the Spirit of God (holiness) and not be confused. The spirit of truth is the holy spirit. The holy spirit GUIDES us to truth.

So, the holy spirit comes from the Father. Jesus is the "Word of God." two different things. Jesus has the holy spirit in him as well, because it comes from the Father.

Jesus brings all to the Father. That is his purpose. He is the doorway, the only way. We cannot go straight to the Father without him.

Your belief is confusing and doesn't make sense.

Let me help, Trinity is three beings or persons in One God. Just as we are many members in one body which is the body of Christ (bride/Church). Jesus, Father, and Holy Spirit are different but in one body which equals God Almighty. Did this help? It didn't make sense in tell God showed it to me...

I whole-heartedly agree, and I really thank ALL of you for answering this new-commer.

P.S. Can't agree about your view of the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
Would you consider asking to see the verses which truly explain it,
or is this a forbidden topic and get me banned from the Forum?
This Forum is precious to me, and I wouldn't want to be booted out.
