The law doesn’t define it as sin the apostle Paul says this to the Church however
“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.”
2 Thessalonians 3:10-15 KJV
The thing is the church has an order it was to take care of the widows and orphans and destitute so for able bodied believers to not work put burdens on those who did work and supply the needs of the church
“And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.”
Acts 2:44-45 KJV
able bodied people ought to supply fornthier own needs and also have something to share with the needy
“and that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; that ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.”
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 KJV
thats pretty consistent in the nt so I don’t think we look at it as sin which is defined by the law of Moses but we look at it as what the lord is saying to believers and should hear it
