when was the last time a muslim nation invaded a Christian nation? jave to go back a long time. they may have blood on their hands but no more than we do. five hundred thousand dead children in Iraq you would think would be enough to wake people up.
I do not know if it was the last time, but for example Turkey invading the Greek Cyprus in 1974 or Pakistan invasion to India in 1999...

But I would say that the sectarian wars between sunni and shiia branches of islam are much more common, they actually never stopped killing each other in dozens of conflicts every few years.

Well, you're one up on me! ... I've never come up against the 50 to 1 verses ratio.
There may actually be more, but the list is so long it is already onerous, and as I said, many largely ignore them anyways! But it is true, and every once in a while I will see another verse that I think, oh! I could add that to my list :)

Just wanted to add, I find it easier to witness to Muslims than atheists - the good
starting point is we both believe in God. Plus the sun tan helps. :)

Several times i get taxis back and forth, many taxi drivers are Asian in my city.
When I say I'm going to church, they are really surprised and start asking questions.
Thats all it takes!

There was one man in his late 50s, as soon as I told him I was going to church, he
started asking me about the bible, I can't remember what the right name for it is. But
he said he was a leader in his local mosque and he felt there was something missing.

We got to church and ended up sat outside for 20 mins telling him about the early books
of the bible, Garden of Eden, Abraham, in the beginning was the word. Then book of
John, the word was God - was Jesus.

He said Muslims believe the first five books of the bible. Wow an amazing place to start
when witnessing to Muslims or what! They have a little truth - give them the rest!

I asked if he wanted me to pray for him - Me a mere woman pray for a man who leads his
mosque! He said yes so we spent a little time in his taxi praying outside of church. I did the
praying and I prayed in the name of Jesus. He was almost crying.

This is just one of the many conversations I've had over the years. He had a hunger
to know the truth. What if I'd just thought - oh he is evil, he wants to kill me really,
dont bother with him. What a missed opportunity that would have been.
Sorry more to add....lol

I think if a person has a heart for evangelism, or at least is open to sharing their
faith even in little bits or a small way. Than the Holy Spirit will bring people across
your path who are open to the gospel. It matters not who they are, their,
religion, country, culture etc.

There is another Muslim chap who I see every so often, another taxi driver. It might be
weeks or months between taxi rides. But he takes great delight in asking me about the
bible and picking up from where we last left off! He actually tends to remember our
conversations better than I do.

Ive given out several bibles to Muslim taxi drivers, none have ever refused. I only do
this when I see someone has a specific interest in knowing more. I point out chapters
for them to look at.

Going back to the first five books of the bible, Muslims do believe these books, maybe
certain stories are a little altered but the foundations are there. What a great opportunity to
share!

Talk to Muslims about Hebrews 11 the "by faith chapter".
Islam is a religion of works, what an eye opener it is to them that characters they recognise
were saved by faith!

Watch the penny drop when you point out "the word in Genesis and then show them
"the word" is Jesus.

I remember when I was a young teen. There was a Muslim local shop behind our house
I use to drop by there every so often. We all did, the family who ran the shop always
seemed to be a bit sad.

Then one night there was a massive commotion, with a fire engine and ambulance,
police all in attendance. It turned out he had poured petrol on himself and set himself
alight!

The reason - it came out that his wife told him she didn't love him and never had,
he felt there was no reason to go on living, that he had failed as a good Muslim.
He got his wish, he died later in hospital.

How tragic, what if someone had shared the gospel with him and his wife. What
if someone had told him there was another way. What if someone had told him
God loved him.

How awful to be under the curse of a religion which teaches you have angels
on your shoulders, one writes down all the bad things and one writes down all the
good things. You hope that when you die the good deeds exceed the bad, but you never
know for certain.

How awful to be in bondage to a religion where you dare not tell anyone that you don't
agree with something, or have a different opinion in case you are killed.

Islam is a prison, people are held in bondage to it, how can people be set free if
they are not shown the road to freedom.

Ephesians 6:11-12 NKJV
[11] Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil. [12] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Please check out Dr Bill Warner on youtube. Your numbers are horribly low, horribly,Muslims have committed genocide down through the years. Please check the facts.
i put my numbers in the middle to try and give a more honest answer, islam numbers go from 25-75 thousand, US 5-15 million. different sources give different info. it always fluctuates. most havent been there, they have to rely on the experts. one thing i do know for a fact, me, you or anyone can drive into any town in the US and find a military base or military armory.
rome was another empire with a massive military. they were always expanding the empire. the common people carried all the expense of the war as well as did all the fighting so that top one percent could live like kings. the common people always follow their leaders even when the leaders are rotten to the core. nothing changes.

It also tells them to live peaceably with Jews and Christians.
I've read 2 different English translations of the Qur'an.
How do they harmonize being told to seek us out and kill us
where ever they find us, with living peaceably with us?

No, Miri, what is foundational is that Isaac was the son of promise, not Ishmael, and for you to deny this is disturbing, since Jesus Christ came through the line of Isaac and Mohammed came through Ishmael.

I have heard some experts to say that its the basic problem of Koran. In the beginning, Mohammed was weak and feared Jews and Christians so he wrote an advice for his followers to live in peace with Jews and Christians, in this era of his life.

When he got stronger and his armies were larger, he begun to tell his followers to kill Jews and subdue or kill Christians.

And because all Koran is the word of God for muslims and still valid (not like OT and NT for Christians, but whole Koran is still valid), there are two possible, contradictory views on this matter and both can be named as "true islam".

As you said, the first one (to live in peace) is practiced mostly when they are few in numbers, because it is the context of those verses in Koran. Thats why it is so easy for a muslim to get radicalized. He can just read it and understand the context.

Their practice also is to accept that any later verse abrogates a previous verse. So if "live in peace" was given at first, and then "go out and kill" was given later, go out and kill is what they are supposed to follow, not the former.

It all depends on which verses a Muslim chooses to follow.
If Satan pushes you hard to focus of group-A, you focus on group-A.
They belong to him, don't they?

To deny that Isaac was the son of promise to Sarah and Abraham as a foundational
truth of Scripture kind of blows my mind, to tell you the truth. It never fails to amaze
me how deceived people are! God even calls Isaac Abraham's only son, but Islamic
teachings deny this as well. God made a promise to Abraham that his seed would
bless the whole earth. That promise is fulfilled through the line of Isaac, from whom
Jesus came, but Muslims swap out Isaac to insert Ishmael, and assert Mohammed,
who claims to be a descendant of Ishmael, of greater importance to them than Jesus.

To pretend this is of little importance, or not foundational... what can I say? WOW.

Another note: because I have been falsely accused of so many things in this thread
by people who have no conscience on the matter, I did a page by page search of the
word "evil" to ascertain the truth of the matter. Nowhere did I call Muslims evil.

Funnily enough, one of the very people who falsely accused me
DID call them evil. Evil nutcases, actually. How is that for hypocrisy?

I did say that Mohammed believed he was accosted by an evil spirit.
In post 132 I said Islam was evil, which was affirmed by yeraza and others.

I did ask by page nine who had said Muslims were evil.
Because one does get tired of being falsely accused all the time
by people who cannot be bothered to acknowledge their error,
who further rationalize and justify their slander and then complain
about the nastiness of the BDF as if they were not part of the problem :p

I did stop looking after page nine. I knew I hadn't
said what I was repeatedly falsely accused of.

I think just a general knowledge of how and what they think would do this thread just fine.
I have no clue so please continue to post your experiences so I can glean some knowledge.

Thank you

Potter.
this is a big problem.

For God So Loved the World
16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.John 3

the sorry point is i never wrote the bible. and if you do not know that belief system, how do you know it is being observed

thank you
for reading this. (holy bible)
