Isn't it strange how $500 seem
like
such a
large amount when we give it as
offering,
but such a small amount when you
go
shopping? Isn't it strange how
2hrs seem so
long when you're at place of
worship,
and
how short they seem when you're
watching
a good movie? Isn't it strange that
you can't
find a word to say when you're to
make
supplications to God, but you have
no
trouble thinking of what to gist
about
with a friend? Isn't it strange how
difficult
and
boring it is to read one chapter of
the
Scriptures, but how easy it is to
read
100
pages of a popular novel or
magazine?
Isn't it strange how everyone
wants front-
row-
tickets to concerts, film house or
games,
but
they do whatever is possible to sit
at
the last row in the holy gathering?
Isn't it
strange
how everyone wants a place in
Paradise,
but they don't want to believe, do,
or
say anything to get there? Isn't it
strange
how
we send jokes in e-mails,
BBM,Fb, whatsapp, BC
and they are forwarded right
away, but
when we are going to send
messages about
God, we think about it twice
before we
share it with others?
IT'S STRANGE
INDEED WHAT*DO*U*THINK?

lets beef up our spiritual life
cos
its
very necessary.. I believe this will
strength a soul.

btw ugly and ariel, the value of $500 is relative to the country you're in. he's from nigeria (i think). im from guyana and in my country( its sad and embarrassing) $500 is little. i dont want to explain further cause i will feel bad..
anyway...very thought provoking post!! :)

plus i'd rather talk about the Bible any day. i feel awkward at parties trying to make up small talk.

i think twice about sending jokes because some of them i find offensive,

typically i don't like forwarded messages unless they are scripture because i prefer actually thinking up my own words instead of parroting others.

and I try to read the entire Bible straight through at least once a year, but your right i would think it strange,

i find lots of things strange, mainly that people don't read the Bible straight through at all even though they are raised Christian.

It was the first thing I wanted to do before becoming Christian and I just thought everyone did as little children. I found it strange that it was not true.

I hope to encourage my kids to read the Bible straight through, maybe read it from cover to cover one chapter at a time to them throughout the year. we went through one children's bible already. hopefully when they are older we can read the adult version without confusing them too much. i'm worried about the water downed versions of the Bible kids read and find it strange most have not read the grown up version even as teenagers or adults.

oh ok, forgot about that.

sorry sometimes i do not remember this forum is international.

you know what I find strange. how even Christians think treasure means money and not God's Truth in your heart and Good deeds He has you do.

how often any message involved with money is misread. I find it very strange indeed.

the whole verse give to Ceasar what is Ceasar and give to God what is God.

Just today, I heard a whole group of Christians say how important money is and how you have to give 10 percent to God/church first and then figure out what to do with the other 90 percent. paying taxes etc.

i found it strange no one else spoke up so I had to say... that's not what the passage is about at all..

the things of God is not money. money had Ceasar's face on it. God doesn't want your money. its not about the 10 percent. God does not want 10 percent. He wants ALL of you.

the passage is about how the Pharisees gave Rome worship and rejected their True King, especially before Jesus cruxification where they declared they had no king but Rome. the passage is not about carnal things but about spiritual things. that is why they were shocked. Jesus told them He didn't care about their money or if they got any of the people's money. He cared about proclaiming the Gospel and having people repent and turn back to TRUE worship of God.

i found it strange no one else said that even though the room was filled with many older than myself and people who grew up Christian.
