Bread Crumbs “Love Paid Forward” October 23

The true riches of life do not come from a bank. Neither do they flow from any other financial institution, occupation, or platform of prestige. The true riches in life are found in the love that is expressed from one heart towards another. God loved humanity so much that He designated His only Son as a sin offering. He was sent from heaven to meet the true need of humanity, to free us from the debt and the dominion of sin’s grasp. This expression of love will never be matched, as nothing could ever compare to the cost of God’s sacrifice of His Son. Those who have experienced the benefits of this expression of love are those who have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. A willingness to transfer love towards others, from the bank of supply freely dispensed, should be a normal and consistent action. Those who have received this great love should have “pockets full” of love to draw from and proffer towards others. When we are sensitive to the needs of others, then our lives will not be consumed by our personal designs. When we care enough to extend what we have freely received towards others, then the true riches in life are “paid forward” to others.

John 13:35 - By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 6:18
Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

The Apostle Paul opens this great letter to the Galatians with the greeting of God’s Grace and Peace being toward them from the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, and now his last remark to this Church is the same. The reason I would think is because God’s Grace is what GOD IS DOING in us, to us, for us, and through us, and God’s Grace requires the object of faith to function within the heart of man so that the fruit can be of His Holy Spirit.

This letter is correctional and redirectional for those who have ears to hear and will return to the ONE OBJECT of Faith our Heavenly Father has offered all of humanity. That being the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. When our faith IS, “NOT WAS”, in the Cross of Jesus Christ and that being what we are believing unto, there will we find the Grace of God, laboring, teaching us, and His strength will be found perfect in our weakness. Jesus was Crucified through weakness (2 Corinthians 13:4), because God’s strength is only made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). His Grace is toward His people, but for His Grace to be experienced by His people, they must cling to Christ and His Redemptive work at the Cross!

When I see the Blood!
——————————————————
The instructions for the children of Israel were clear and to the point. There were to be no excuses when it came to doing exactly what the Lord had said. He said to them to take a young lamb on the 10th day of the month, they were to closely examine the young male lamb, look for any imperfections in it because this young lamb was to serve as a type of our Lord Jesus Christ. On the 14th day of the month, they were to kill it, and take the blood from the slain lamb and apply it to the two side posts and the upper doorposts of the houses. Then they were to consume the lamb in its entirety. That night, the death angel would pass through, and all houses that didn't have the blood applied to the doors would suffer the death of their firstborn.

This is one of the most beautiful types found in the word of God of the cross of Jesus Christ. God has asked the same of us presently, however, the difference today is that the type has become a reality, understanding that lamb was a type of Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus was perfect, had no sin, and in essence, he was fit to be the representative man for all of humanity. He was slain, but not for himself because he didn’t need redemption and had no sin, but for our sins. It was Isaiah who said he bore our griefs and transgressions, so he did it all on our behalf. Because of the cross, that precious blood has been applied to our hearts, and we through faith in the blood have become the righteousness of God, and we have escaped the wrath and judgment to come. Think about it, the only thing that stands between mankind and eternal damnation is the cross of Jesus Christ. But, what God is looking for today is the same as so many years ago, and it's not our goodness, not our affiliations, not our denominations, but the blood, and when he sees the blood, he will pass over us, and we will be protected by that shed blood of the Lamb!

Exodus 12:13
"And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are and when I see the blood, I will pass over you."

Bread Crumbs “Stay on Your Course” October 24

There is a function that God has assigned to every believer. It is not always an easy or simple thing to find. But if a believer will yield His heart to Christ and allow Him to lead them, that function, that purpose, will become clear. Once that purpose has been located, the powers of darkness, which are very real and certainly do exist, will begin to work to hinder, alter, or to try to eliminate the work to which we have been called. Oftentimes, the attacks are directed toward the goal of our ministries. But more often than not, powers of darkness will focus their attention upon the life, heart, and faith of the one called to the work. There will be times when defeat seems imminent. It may appear that there is no way out of the snares established against the believer. But when God calls us to do a job, He fully intends to bring us through the negativity of all opposition. If we will refuse to give in to the voice of the enemy, if we will refuse to be overwhelmed by discouragement, if we will refuse to become dismayed, God will bring us through. If you will not quit believing, God will finish everything He starts through you!

1 Chronicles 28:20 - And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it : fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 1:1
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

According to the Bible God has always and continues today to “speak”, as He has chosen this avenue to create all things for His glory, and to reveal Himself to His most prized possession, Man, which He created in His very own image. He has, down through the ages spoken at sundry times, referring to various times, and divers manners which is referring to various ways, but if it was God revealing Himself to man, He was SPEAKING, for faith must come as we hear God speaking (Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4, Romans 10:17).

Every Word that God has ever spoken to man is found In Righteousness (Proverbs 8:8), and His Righteousness is only revealed in The Gospel Truth (Proverbs 12:17, Romans 1:16-17). All throughout the Old Covenant God spoke concerning His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for He is our Righteousness, and Jesus said THE VOLUME of the Book was written of Him (Psalm 40:7, John 5:38-39, Luke 24:44-46, Hebrews 10:7). Our Bible is our Jesus Book, and He is the Truth, Light and Righteousness of God’s Word. Hear Him today as you look to Calvary and find the Path of His Righteousness already laid before you!

Bread Crumbs “Accountable to Grace” October 25

The new covenant established by Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on Calvary is a covenant of grace. The Christian cannot work for the status of being righteous, rather, the righteousness of Christ is freely imputed by faith alone. This position of righteousness is what allows God to enter into and maintain a relationship with Christians and is established by faith in the finished work of the Cross. The believer then comes face-to-face with his true spiritual condition. Despite the miracle of regeneration, there is still much change that is needed in our hearts and minds. Since our condition is a “work in progress,” we are to make constant strides towards holiness. We are warned in scripture not to use our liberty (the truth that I cannot earn righteousness) as an excuse to act in an unrighteous manner. Flesh never desires to submit to the never-ending procedure of being transformed into the image of Christ. To do wrong, and then point to our positional righteousness as the reason why this wrong is acceptable, is a misuse of one's liberty in Christ. All believers are held accountable to experience the transforming power of God's goodness and His grace. Let His grace save, refine, and define your total being!

Galatians 5:13 - For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 1:2
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

First of all, let us notice that the earthly ministry of Jesus as Redeemer is when the “Last Days” began. When we read the phrase in our Bibles, “The Last Days”, let us always remember that the last days began when Jesus showed up and began to teach and to do the wonderful Words and Works of God among us (Acts 1:1). He came to reveal the Father to us, and to die for us so The New and Living Way could be offered to us to our Heavenly Father (Hebrews 10:20).

God is speaking to us today by His Son, and His voice is heard through the Gospel of His Son (Hebrews 12:24), as it is the Blood of Christ that speaks! Jesus is also the appointed heir of all things, and by whom God made the worlds (John 1:1-2). The word worlds refers to ages of which there has been many generations of men in many ages. Jesus said the Scriptures were about Him (Psalm 40:7, John 5:38-39, Luke 24:44-46, Hebrews 10:7), and all that was only types and shadows in the Old are being revealed in the Light of who Christ is and what He came to do on the Cross for all men (Hebrews 2:9). No more types and shadows, but through faith in Him and His work at Calvary, we walk with Him in the Light in which He walks (1 John 1:7).

LAW OF BURNT OFFERINGS

1 And t he LORD called unto Moses, and spoke unto him out of the Tabernacle of the congregation, saying (the Holy Spirit has now taken up abode in the Tabernacle, actually in the Holy of Holies, where He dwelt between the Mercy Seat and the Cherubim [I Cor. 3:16]),

2 Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an Offering unto the LORD, you shall bring your Offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock. (There is no mention of any woman bringing an Offering to the Lord, as it regards the Sacrifice of an animal. This was always done by a man. Why?

Even though Eve sinned first, it was Adam, the fountainhead of the human race, who dragged down mankind through the Fall. Whatever happened to him would pass on to the entirety of mankind. This is the reason that the “Last Adam” was necessary [I Cor. 15:45]. As well, the Sacrificial System had been instituted immediately after the Fall [Gen., Chpt. 4]. However, it didn’t come into full bloom until the Law was given, as here noted.)

3 If his offering be a Burnt Sacrifice of the herd (a whole Burnt Offering, typifying Christ giving His all), let him offer a male without blemish (symbolic of the perfection of Christ): he shall offer it of his own voluntary will (would probably be better translated, “he shall offer it for the Lord’s acceptance”; if the Offering was accepted, so was the offerer; if the Offering was rejected, the offerer was rejected as well!) at the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD. (The man had sinned before the Lord, so the Sacrifice must be presented before the Lord.)

4 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the Burnt Offering (in effect, transferring his sin and guilt to the innocent victim, all typifying Christ taking our sins upon Himself); and it shall be accepted for him to make Atonement for him (refers to the animal being accepted as a Substitute on behalf of the sinner; at the Cross, Christ became our Substitute, and our identification with Him guarantees us Atonement).

5 And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD (typifying the death of Christ on the Cross): and the Priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the Altar that is by the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation (the assisting Priest would catch in a basin the blood that poured from the slain animal’s throat; he would then take the blood to the Brazen Altar, and throw it around the bottom of the Altar; in some respects, this was the most essential part of the ceremony, the blood representing the life [Lev. 17:11], which was symbolically received at the hands of the offerer, and presented by the Priests to God; in the antitype, our Lord exercised the function of the sacrificing Priest, when He presented His Own Life to the Father, as He hung upon the Altar of the Cross).

6 And he shall flay the Burnt Offering, and cut it into his pieces (this signified how terrible and how deep a thing that sin actually is; sin is not merely exterior; it is interior; it is a disease of the vitals, affecting every single part of the human being).

7 And the sons of Aaron the Priest shall put fire upon the Altar (typical of the Judgment of God, which Christ took upon Himself, all on our behalf), and lay the wood in order upon the fire (the “wood” was typical of the Cross):

8 And the Priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the Altar (the parts, as designated here, signify that the Cross dealt with every aspect of the sinner and sin):

9 But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the Priest shall burn all on the Altar, to be a Burnt Sacrifice (a Whole Burnt Offering), an Offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. (The “Burnt Offering,” the “Meat Offering,” and the “Peace Offering” are sacrifices of a “sweet savour.” The expression is never used with regard to the “Sin Offering” and “Trespass Offering.” The “washing” signified the purity of Christ.

We should have a very defective apprehension of the mystery of the Cross were we only to see in it that which meets man’s need as a sinner. There were depths in that mystery which only the Mind of God could fathom. It is, therefore, important to see that when the Holy Spirit would furnish us with foreshadowings of the Cross, He gives us, in the very first place, one which sets it forth in its aspect Godward. This alone would be sufficient to teach us that there are heights and depths in the Doctrine of the Cross which man never could reach. There is in the Cross that which only God could know and appreciate. Hence, it is that the Burnt Offering gets the first place. It typifies Christ’s death as viewed and valued by God Alone.)”

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 1:3
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Jesus Christ is the brightness of God’s glory, meaning all that God is, Jesus is the brightness thereof. Jesus is the express image of God’s person, which means the exact copy of without any difference. This is why Jesus said, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father” (John 14:9). He is not the Father, but the express IMAGE of The Father’s person. Many teach that Jesus is The Father, but that is found nowhere in God’s Word.

He at all times is upholding all things, NOT by the power of His Word, but by the Word of His power, which is The Word of The Cross. What Jesus did on the Cross was in the plan of God and carried out as a done deal before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4, 1 Peter 1:20, Hebrews 4:3, Revelation 13:8). He purged us of our sins BY HIMSELF, meaning we had no part to play in the price being paid for our sins. He carried out and finished the work ALL BY HIMSELF. Then because of His faithfulness to love Righteousness (Hebrews 1:9), and through humility and obedience, He endured the Cross for us all, and was given a name above all names and is seated on the right hand of The Majesty on High (Philippians 2:8-10)! We are seated with Him there (Ephesians 2:6).

Bread Crumbs “God Still Delivers” October 27

Have you ever begun to doubt the delivering power of God? This can happen when the storm seems to be never ending and the night feels so dark that morning light seems as distant as a dream. This is when despair comes alive and grips the soul with an iron fist. Fear mounts in our hearts and dismay grapples with our minds as disappointment dances with glee over our seeming devastation. I have been there! It is the place where we lose heart. If you find yourself in a predicament such as this, look back and remind yourself of how great a deliverance that God accomplished when He saved your soul. Remember how He brought you from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His own dear Son. Then recall to mind the magnificent and marvelous miracles of deliverance that He has performed on your behalf since the beginning of your relationship. The fact that God delivered you, and has been delivering you, should add great weight to the thought that He shall deliver you from the present predicament also. Our God is unmatched in delivering power. No enemy, either spiritual or physical, can stand before Him. God is faithful to meet the needs of His children, so look up, your redemption draweth nigh!

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 1:4
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Jesus is fully God and fully Man, and of course is better than the angels, but here refers to Him being made as a Man for the purpose of becoming the sacrificial offering for all men, for it was through that work at the Cross that He obtained a more excellent name than they. The name of Jesus FAR EXCELS that of any angel, for the name of Jesus holds within it the power and the majesty of the God of Heaven and Earth.

The angels were a part of creation, and God by Jesus created all things (John 1:1-2, Hebrews 1:2). So many today seek after angels, but nowhere in God’s Word are we told to seek after angels, but rather God Himself, and through faith in His only Begotten Son, The Lord Jesus Christ and His Redemptive work on the Cross, we have access to Him and His good, acceptable and perfect will for our lives (Romans 12:2). Look to the Cross of Jesus Christ and there you will find the One who is apart, above and before all things, and His love for you is the treasure you have always sought for, but in all the wrong places! The Cross of Jesus Christ is the only avenue God has offered humanity for their faith to be found at work and their hope alive!

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 1:5
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Jesus Christ, The Son of The One True God was declared by His Father to be His Son (Psalm 2:7). This He said to no angel. Angels are not a part of the Godhead and neither do Christian’s become angels when they die. I hear so many people saying about those who die, “They have their wings now.” We were created in God’s image and angels were not, as a matter of fact that very well could be the reason angels as far as we know did not get a second chance once they left their first estate, but were condemned eternally (2 Peter 2:4).

The Word of God who is God (John 1:1-2), is God the Son, Jesus Christ and declared to be so by God The Father. Those who have placed their trust in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins through faith in His Redemptive work at the Cross are Son’s and Daughter’s of God through adoption. We will never be angels, but will rather judge angels (1 Corinthians 6:3). The work of Christ on the Cross is the work of Righteousness and only through that Door can the robe of Righteousness be granted to God’s people. Jesus became the Son of God to die for the sins of the people so that God could bring many Sons and daughter’s to glory (Hebrews 2:10).

Bread Crumbs “The Lord My Shepherd” October 28

The Bible refers to the Lord as being the Shepherd of His people. He is referred to as the “Good Shepherd” because He laid down His life for His sheep. He is referred to as the “Great Shepherd,” because He is able to progressively sanctify all those who continually trust in Him. But my favorite view of the Lord is that of viewing Him as “my shepherd.” I am thankful for all the people that the Lord has saved. But when I began to focus upon Him as “my shepherd,” the picture of His loving care of me stands out clear and strong. Because He is “my shepherd” I shall not want for anything. Because He is “my shepherd” I will rest in green pastures and lie down beside still waters. Because He is “my shepherd,” He guides me into all righteousness. No matter what I face, no matter how horrendous the trial, even under threat of death, His rod and His staff comforts me. “My shepherd” prepares a table for me in the presence of my enemies and anoints my head with oil. “My shepherd” will see to it that both goodness and mercy will pursue and consume me, all the days of my life. Thank you, Jesus, for being “my shepherd!”

Psalm 23:1 - The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Bread Crumbs “Saved and Filled” October 29

It is better to be saved and Spirit-filled than to be lost and lonely! Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior have experienced the bliss of being in right relationship with God. Those who have gone on to the experience of being baptized with the Holy Spirit have stepped into a more intimate relationship with the third person of the Godhead. These two experiences may happen close together or far apart. But with both experiences encountered and embraced, the individual is equipped to live a holy life and is brought into a supernatural power that is primarily designated for service. What a marvelous life it is! Those who have never been saved are separated from God. The pain of sin takes a deadly toll! The consequences of sin steal the potential of life and happiness from the heart. The lost can feel lonely in the midst of an all-encompassing crowd. The cheers of the many can do nothing for the tears of the heart. The cure to being lost and lonely is Jesus. Accept Him as Savior, be filled with the Holy Spirit and experience for yourself what abundant life is all about. It truly is better to be saved and Spirit-filled than to be lost and lonely!

Ephesians 5:18 - And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
