Your Word for Today

“when Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to them who followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel (Mat. 8:10).

The Centurion comes to Christ, asking our Lord to heal his servant, who was “sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.” The answer of Christ was immediate, “I will come and heal him.” The Centurion surprised the Lord by saying, “I am not worthy that You should come under my roof: but speak the Word only, and my servant shall be healed.”

The intelligence of this man was remarkable. He argued that the soldiers had to obey him because in his person resided the authority of the emperor; similarly, disease obeyed Jesus because in Him was the authority of God. And he was right!

When Jesus heard this statement, “He marveled.” This records one of only two times He marveled: at the “faith” of this Gentile, and at the “unbelief” of the Jews (Mk. 6:6).

The Lord followed His reaction by saying, “Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” This is a portrayal of the fact that the Gentiles would accept Christ while Israel would not. Jesus then did exactly what the Centurion requested. He said to him, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done unto you.”

The Scripture is emphatic when it says, “And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.”

This great miracle by Christ portrays the fact that “faith” is the chief ingredient demanded by the Lord on our part.

But let the following ever be understood:

Then the faith had to be registered solely in Christ, and for the obvious reasons. Now that the Cross is a fact, we must ever realize that while Christ is the Source, the Cross is the means. Then our faith will ever be honored.”

The Hebrews verse is Scripture. The “leaving our first love” part isn’t.

That’s your private interpretation.
Yes the same as yours private. His is to the public. His way of working out His faithfulness .

Scripture the milk of the word is the source of our first love . It is the work of God working in us to both will and do his good pleasure .

Without that labor of His love no man could know Him.

Me, myself and I are tied for second place.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6:29

Without that labor of His love no man could know Him and therefore love Him .

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Repent do the first works beleive God as he works to freely give you the faith to make it possible . The hidden manna, taste like honey the hidden pearl in color. . Don't eat to much

“but when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils (Mat. 12:24).

To attribute the Power of God to demon spirits is blasphemy. This is, in fact, the worst blasphemy of all, blaspheming the Holy Spirit, for which there is no forgiveness. The Pharisees, who, incidentally, were the religious leaders in Israel during Jesus’ day, could not deny the healings and miracles performed by Christ, nor did they have a rebuttal for His messages. So they claimed that the power He evidenced was furnished by the Devil, and not by the Holy Spirit. They were, therefore, attributing the Work of the Holy Spirit to the Devil. That is the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit (Mat. 12:24-32).

There are two groups of people who can blaspheme the Holy Spirit: those who have once know the Lord and then turned their back upon Him, or else professors of religion, as these Pharisees. An individual who has never known the Lord and who makes no religious profession cannot blaspheme the Holy Spirit, simply because he doesn’t have enough knowledge to do so.

A person who has truly blasphemed the Holy Spirit, even as these Pharisees, will have no desire to come to Christ, no desire to function Scripturally. The idea is patently unscriptural that a person may want to come to the Lord but cannot do so because they think they have blasphemed the Holy Spirit. The very fact that a person wants to come to the Lord means that such a desire has been generated by the Holy Spirit. To be sure, the Holy Spirit would not generate such a desire if there was no hope.

Considering this exceedingly important subject, I fear for those who malign, as being of the Devil, speaking in tongues, or any other thing truly done by the Holy Spirit.

“Wherefore I say unto you (addressing the most fearsome statement), All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men (that is, if they properly confess the sin to the Lord [I Jn. 1:9]): but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men” (Mat. 12:31).”

Bread Crumbs “Hearing His Voice”

At regeneration, that is, the true “Born Again” experience, the Holy Spirit of God moves inside the heart of every believer. A part of the spiritual reconstruction that is done by the third member of the triune Godhead at that time is to recreate both the soul (the part of man that feels) and the spirit (the part of man that knows). The Spirit of God is then able to regularly communicate and lead the believer by “bearing witness” or “speaking” directly to the newly constructed spirit of the believer. Just think, all night long while you were sleeping, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost were in conversation about you and your needs. The Bible proclaims that His thoughts about you are as many as the sands of the sea shore. Then, when you arise, the Holy Spirit begins to tell you what they have planned for your today and for your tomorrows. The Holy Spirit has revelation that you need for your personal growth. The same Spirit desires to lead you to the proper action and activity that will open you up for the future blessings of God. You are equipped to hear, so listen up! His sheep know His voice and they follow after Him.

John 16:13 - Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

Proverbs 22:26
Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.

We as the children of God are not to become a guarantee for others to pay their debts as debts are the individual’s responsibility and not someone else’s. This is a very serious matter in the days in which we live as many deals are made with just a verbal trust or handshake among many untrustworthy individuals. The children of God are to work and to take care of the house of God, and He has promised to take care of our personal needs. When our faith is in the proper object which is Christ and His sacrificial work at Calvary, there will be an obedience and a wisdom that only the Holy Spirit can give us, and the fruit and all the glory will be unto the Lord as we have trusted him for our substance.

Bread Crumbs “The Light of the Cross”

In my ministry I speak a lot about “the Cross.” Whenever I say that I am not simply referring to the suffering of Christ, the passion of Christ, or even the willingness of Christ to die on the Cross. All of that certainly is a part of the terminology surrounding the Cross of Christ. But my references to the Cross deal far more with what Christ accomplished on calvary. Calvary is where God’s promise to redeem man was carried out! Everything about Christianity is connected to and is a result of the event of Christ’s death. Today believers are to be the beneficiaries of what Christ did on Calvary. Specifically, the Cross is where Jesus died to pay the penalty for every sin that has ever been committed, is presently being committed, or shall be committed. It was at the Cross where Jesus broke the power of sin over us, including the dominion of the sin nature and every aspect of temptation to sin. It was the event of Calvary that opened up the door and enabled humanity to receive inheritance, blessings, and grace from God based upon simple faith in Christ and His finished work. Are you living in the light of the Cross?

2 Corinthians 4:10 - Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Proverbs 22:27
If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?

Here we see the foolishness of co-signing for someone else that may not be honest enough to work to pay off their debts but rather will depend on someone who has made a surety for them and force them to pay, and if they don’t have the money, then it is their own furnishings that will be taken away. God’s Word says that men should work and that if they do not, they should not eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Paul told Timothy (1 Timothy 5:8) that if a man does not work and provide for his own family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. If our faith is in Christ and His work at the cross, the Holy Spirit will lead us to a job and to the wisdom to walk in all of God’s Word. Praise the Lamb forever!

Your Word for Today

“and He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to Heaven, He blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to His Disciples, and the Disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full (Mat. 14:19-20).

An order is developed here which characterizes the life and living of Believers, at least if they want to truly follow the Lord. That order is:

1. “He took”: His taking the five loaves and two fish characterize Him taking us when we were Born-Again. Let it be understood: As these were multiplied to feed thousands of people, He desires to multiply us, as well. If we will truly follow Him, in other words, follow the order that is laid out here, thousands will be spiritually fed and spiritually healed.

2. “He blessed”: Almost immediately after the person is saved, the blessings of the Lord begin. They come from all directions in order to encourage the new convert. It is a blessed time; however, we cannot remain in that particular position, simply because the Lord has something much greater for us. Many Christians, in this state, attempt to give the “blessing” to others, but the conclusion is that self is glorified instead of the Lord. Consequently, the end result is of no positive benefit.

3. “He broke”: After the blessing comes the breaking, and this is the part that none of us enjoy. However, if we are to be what we must be in the Lord, it is inevitable, meaning absolutely necessary, that we experience the breaking process. It is painful and hurtful, but necessary! This is what John the Baptist was speaking of when, concerning Jesus, he said, “Whose fan is in His Hand, and He will thoroughly purge His Floor, and gather His Wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire” (Mat. 3:12).

4. “He gave”: Only after we have been properly broken can we then be successfully given. And now there is a great difference. Instead of “self” being glorified, the Master is glorified. We can now be multiplied, which will then spiritually feed the multiplied thousands who are in such desperate need.

Unfortunately, many do not survive the breaking process. They quit, lose faith, lose heart, and, thereby, miss the greatest blessing of all.”

Proverbs 22:28
Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

Removing the property boundaries for selfish gain is a sin in the eyes of God, and the command is to not remove the boundary markers which in that day were stones. What God gives, He doesn’t want others to attempt to steal, and the price to be reaped will not be good for those who do this, as it is stealing. We as the children of God are commanded to steal no more (Ephesians 4:28), but rather work with our own hands that which is good and to help those in need who cannot help themselves. Many a life has been changed and prospered in various ways when one comes to Christ through faith in His sacrificial work at Calvary. Everything changes in Christ as we are led by His Spirit which prospers His Word in our hearts.

Bread Crumbs “Salt of the Earth”

It is vital for every believer to understand that every one of us is to be a guide to God for those we come in contact with. Our actions, our choices, our words, all represent the God we have chosen to serve. Therefore, it is imperative that as servants of Christ, we let our light shine in this darkened lost world. We do this with both our lips as well as our life. As believers, we should be verbally pointing others to the life that can be found in Christ. As well, we must aggressively endeavor to live holy and righteously by faith through grace. We are to exhibit a lifestyle witness to those who come to know us. The believer should also help lead other believers into the righteous ways of God. We must always keep in mind that the danger of getting off track ourselves is very real. The wrong way can often appear more desirous at first glance than the right way. Know for a certainty that there is death in the wrong way and the promise of life can only be found in God’s ways. Let us pray that we may receive the grace we need to lead those around us into the glorious light of a Godly life!

Matthew 5:13-14 - Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. (14) Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Your Word for Today

“but He answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is your faith: be it unto you even as you will. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Mat. 15:26-28).

The lesson taught here is remarkable indeed! A Gentile lady comes to Christ and requests deliverance for her daughter.

As a Minister of the Circumcision for the Truth of God to fulfill the Promises made to the Fathers, Christ refused to answer the Gentile petition addressed to him as Son of David. Obedience must dominate pity. As Man, He was “sent”; He was, therefore, a Servant. Hence, the silence of Verse 23, i.e., “He answered her not a word.”

As stated, there was a reason for that, so He will take another tact. He said to her, “It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.” Her answer was classic. She said, “Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

She had previously addressed him as Son of David, to which He could not respond, because she was a Gentile. Now she addresses Him as “Lord.” As God, He has liberty of action; in Grace, He could respond to the need which Faith presented to that Grace. Otherwise, He would have denied His Own Character and Nature as God.

Her plea, “Lord, help me,” was better than her first one. But she did not get blessing until she added, “I am a dog.” This was the same ground the publican took when he said, “Be propitiated to me the sinner.”

If deliverance from the power of sin and Satan be a crumb, what must the whole loaf be!”

Bread Crumbs “A Rose in the Desert”

Have you ever seen a rose blossoming in the desert? This sight is both unusual and beautiful. Something very striking and uncommon in a desolate, dry, and dead landscape. This is what the lives of believers ought to look like when contrasted with the world around them. We should be teeming with life, having the look of promise; the sight causing hope of something better and greater! Only the grace of God is able to produce this outstanding contrast between the reflection of life in the saint and the obvious death gripping the heart of the sinner. As we keep our faith securely in Christ and what He did for us at Calvary, He transforms weeds into roses. He faithfully removes that which distracts, destroys, or demotes, and consistently builds into believers that which revives, delivers, and brings favor. Even to the outside world the difference between the lives of Christians and non-Christians should be acutely obvious. The life of the believer should reflect the peace, the inner strength, and righteousness of our Savior. The life of the lost is likely to indicate a state of chaos, insecurity, a lack of true joy, and a shortage of contentment. Is your life blossoming as a rose in the desert? Christ can make it so!

Isaiah 35:1 - The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

Proverbs 22:29
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men .

The Lord rewards the diligent man who is diligent in his business, which means his work and ministry. The reward is here revealed that he shall stand before kings as he is promoted in his labors. He will NOT stand before mean men which are men who are dark and insignificant, but rather the Lord will put his people before those where he can be blessed. The Lord has promised that whoever seeks Him diligently will be rewarded (Hebrews 11:6), and He also taught that seeking Him takes place as one seeks HIS kingdom, and HIS righteousness FIRST, which results in all their needs being met according to God’s plan (Matthew 6:33). Maintaining one’s faith in Christ and His cross is the only avenue provided to be able to find the Lord and to be able to serve Him (Romans 6:17-19).

Your Word for Today

“while he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a Voice out of the cloud, which said, This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him (Mat. 17:5).

The transfiguration presents a portrayal of the Glory of Christ. The Glory did not shine upon Jesus, but shone out from Him through His raiment. When Moses and Elijah appeared on the mountain with Him, Moses did so as a portrayal of the Law, while Elijah did so as a portrayal of Grace.

The gist of the conversation of Jesus with these two men, one who had been dead for about 1,500 years, and the other who had been translated that he did not see death, is interesting indeed! They spoke with Him of His atoning death (Lk. 9:31). This tells us that this Doctrine, the Atonement, is the great theme of Heaven (Rev. 1:5; 5:6, 9; 7:14).

Peter made a foolish statement about building three tabernacles, “one for Jesus, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” However, the answer from above was quick in coming. God will not have even the greatest Saints associated with His Beloved Son in worship or teaching. Both Moses and Elijah were, in fact, immediately withdrawn and the Divine Voice said, “Hear Him, and Him Alone!”

This means that all prayers to Saints, even prayers to the Virgin Mary, will avail nothing. The Command from God the Father is stark, crisp, and to the point, “Hear ye Him!”’
