In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Paul says that Jesus died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. According to what scriptures? What scriptures specifically, in the old testament I assume, was Paul referring to that said Jesus would die and rise again on the third day?

[h=1]1 Corinthians 15:1-4New King James Version (NKJV)[/h][h=3][/h]1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, [SUP]2 [/SUP]by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, [SUP]4 [/SUP]and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures

All the scriptures speak of Jesus..the law, prophets, psalms...I'm not sure where they all are but they are there someplace..i did find one off the top of my head...

Luke 24:25-32 (KJV)
[SUP]25 [/SUP] Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
[SUP]26 [/SUP] Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
[SUP]27 [/SUP] And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Matthew 12:39-40 (NASB)
[SUP]39 [/SUP] But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;
[SUP]40 [/SUP] for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Thanks, Jonah is a good one that uses an analogy that Jonah would be in the belly of a great fish for 3 days and 3 nights but are there others that say Jesus would, specifically die for our sins and specifically rise again on the third day. I know that Isaiah 53 is a prophesy that shows he would be wounded for our transgressions but is there another one in the old testament, besides the Jonah reference, that shows he would rise again? Thanks for your help with this.

The feasts of the Lord in Leviticus 23 teach of Christ. The first three feasts were:-

Day 1. Passover - Jesus Died
Day 2. Unleavened Bread - Jesus in Grave
Day 3. Firstfruits - Jesus Rose

If you read these feasts in Leviticus 23 you will see the first three feasts were on days next to each other.

1 Corinthians 5:7 KJV
(7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Matthew 26:26 KJV
(26) And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

1 Corinthians 15:23 KJV
(23) But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

Firstfruits was always on a Sunday because it fell on the day after the weekly sabbath. It didn't always occur on the day after the first day of unleavened bread.

The feasts were also called sabbaths, also the Bible says Jesus was in the grave on Sabbath.

But Jesus was working when he was in the grave, for he was preaching the good news to those who had previously died. (1 peter 4:6)

That depends on how you interpret the state of the dead.

John 11:11-14 KJV
(11) These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
(12) Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
(13) Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
(14) Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Jesus interpreted death as a sleep.

1 Peter 4:6 KJV
(6) For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

As for this statement according to what Jesus said people are sleep and do not know anything when they die. Also Jesus said this:-

Matthew 8:22 KJV
(22) But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

But it I impossible to make proclamation of the Gospel to those who are dead or asleep if they cannot understand what they are being told isn't it? So they must have a consciousness of some kind when they depart this world. Their flesh has died. They have died to living on this earth, and yes, Paul terms them as asleep, but I wouldn't say that precludes consciousness at all, nor would I see how it could according to peters words.
Then how do we view the parable of Lazarus, Abraham and the rich man?

The first and last days of Unleavened bread were sabbaths. Firstfruits occurred on the day after the weekly sabbath that occurred after the first sabbath of unleavened bread. So that sabbath and firstfruits rarely occurred on consecutive days. Usually there were one or more days intervening between the two.

Just as Jesus said "Let the dead bury the dead" Preaching the gospel to the dead could be to those spiritually dead.

Mark 2:16-17 KJV
(16) And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
(17) When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

That verse is referring to Christ's spirit proclaiming the gospel through Noah to the disobedient souls who perished in the flood, whose souls are now confined in prison.

I take it to mean Christ, not Noah is proclaiming the gospel to them

The bible is specific, Jesus died on the cross, was made alive by the spirit through whom he went and made proclamation to the spirits of those in prison who had previously died
You cannot preach the gospel to any person living or dead I they do not have consciousness to understand it

What spirit are you referring to because according to you only Paul had the Holy Spirit?
