John 1:1-17
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, "You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that."

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."

The Water of Life

John 4:13, 14 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life

Water = Holy Spirit :)

The Lost Sheep (Luke 15:1-7)

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance"

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Good ole Judas, one of The Twelve, justified and sanctified, saved by accepting Christ, truly. Does Scripture make any reference to Judas' never having been saved in the first place? No. Judas was in front of mighty Jesus, set apart from most, not 'the multitude,' not an 'apostle,' but a very true 'disciple' of Jesus, who proved intimate acquaintance with God Himself (in the flesh) could be taken for granted, and, even His revelation of being the Son of God to mankind was not enough for this betrayer, this friend of Jesus, close friend, one of the Twelve, for three years, learning from Him Himself.
All thrown away for a little money, that became blood money, Judas own blood.

Listen, Christ peeps, listen to the power of understanding, and, Judas being given a great chance to realize that Jesus knew what Judas was doing....

Luke 22:47-48
While He was still speaking, behold a multulitude came, the one called 'Judas, one of the twelve, was preceding them, andz he approached Jesus to kiss Him.

But Jesus said to him (this is Jesus trying to save Judas, interrupting Judas' about to be done evil deed), "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"

Jesus is so merciful, yet some just don't get it. In Judas case, he would die because he did not yet it right, he could have not leant down to humiliatingly shame Jesus. But, Judas did, and, get this, nowhere in Scripture does it say (in the nasb, anyway) that Judas acknowledged Jesus' question. Jesus called Judas 'friend,' just like He called the other eleven selectively called to this honorable grouping and name, 'disciple.' Student of Jesus, what better way to learn that that :)

Jesus, right there in front of our face, and, some choose to still follow Satan's darkness rather than the easy to follow light of Jesus' way.

And, this means 'falling away,' Judas was under the Law still because Jesus had not yet died. The Holy Spirit had not yet been given, for Christ needed to ascend before He could 'dwell' in us as a 'Helper.' 'Course, David wrote with the Spirit, Psalms verses say, but that was different than Jesus on earth years.

Yes, I too, like those many pictures, both powerful and funny ones. Squirrely, yours reminds me of a cartoon somewhere, but, yes, God seriously, yet Lovingly, 're-directs' our steps (proverbs 16:9) when we set out on OUR way. :)
OooooooooooooooO
6 So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

this is an all about Jesus thread. just wanted to see one since this is suppose to be the Bible discussion forum. it seems that JESUS gets lost behind "issues"

anyway post Bible verses about JESUS please.

I'll start:

Genesis 3
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

Eve's Seed refers to Jesus!

i hope we remember from beginning to end scripture is not about issues but main focus is JESUS!

and so should be our focus.

so post any verse concerning Jesus. I'll post another one tommorrow and hope to find some reading material.

goal; don't repeat a verse someone else has already posted.

informal suggestion: only post one verse a day to keep Jesus on each of our minds daily.
We can look at that today and say that was Jesus, but I'm curious how you would explain the woman's seed as being Jesus to someone who is only familiar with the Old Testament?
