It's really nice to hear you answers, thank you all for taking the time . It's really interesting to me to hear about your transformative experiences and testimonies.

Some of you have asked some questions about Buddhism, or made some statements about it that have some mistakes in.
I'm really not here to try and convince you about Buddhism or get deep in debate. I will answer one point though...
Buddha is not dead... each and every one of us is a Buddha, it is just what we are when we are fully awake and our mind is cleansed of all defilements. There have been many Buddhas in the past and will be many more in the future.. There might even be some around now, but they wouldn't tell you, though I'm not anywhere being one yet.

That said, I'm really not here to talk about Buddhism, I wish happiness for all of you.

For someone who is "not here to talk about Buddhism", you sure have talked a lot about buddhism. And yes, the man Siddhārtha Gautama (Buddha) who began this religion is absolutely dead.

This is a Christian site, so of course they don't advocate false religions. Nevertheless, all are welcome here as Jesus Christ invites all to Himself.

Pardon me for being skeptical, but it seems rather crafty that you titled this thread "Jesus Prayer" but have as your avatar the dakini Vajrayogini (female spirit which no male can approach because she is too holy) which is of course anti-Christian. Also, you are inviting people to research buddhism beliefs and practices while at the same time saying you’re "only" really interested in people’s feelings about prayer.

If you’re not on a Christian site to promote buddhism, may I ask why you keep promoting buddhism and making reference to your practices? And what significance is there to posting your avatar, which your religion believes is the supreme metaphysical deity?

I'm just curious. :giggle:

probably because when he makes topics asking questions about Christianity many of the replies aren't answers to his questions, but people telling him Buddhism is false, and asking him why he is a Buddhist and doesn't he see how false Buddhism is. looking back through this thread i notice him answering people's questions or comments about Buddhism, not bringing it up out of the blue

((my guess))

Perhaps you are right. I did not perceive him asking about Christ Jesus so much as I saw someone making opportunity to promote a false religion, albeit in a gracious attempt. My bad. What threw me off was the avatar of a demon, a man being deceived by the devil, and the truth that Jesus died to set him free.

It's always a good thing to defend God!!

But when many faiths are involved, I have learned the difficult way (I might add :))...
That defending God is only properly received, when God has become the one in question and you have been the one asked to defend Him.

I don't think I have attacked Christianity, so I don't see why it needs defending. Though maybe my avatar feels like an attack? If Christ's wish was to suffer so that others don't have to suffer then as a Buddhist I have the highest regard for that, it suggests a being of high realisation!

I have only really explained a bit about Buddhism when asked.... I could say an awful lot more, but I'm really not here to debate it...

So.... back to the Jesus Prayer.... and your experiences of being transformed personally by prayer.. being helped by prayer... finding peace through prayer... Etc.
