bill gates makes billions of dollars. He is an atheist. The Saudi sheiks and princes make billions of dollars. They are Muslims. The Catholic church brings in Billions of dollars. The Mormon church brings in hundreds of millions of dollars. The Christian Science groups bring in hundreds of millions of dollars. Scientology brings in millions of dollars. Islam is possibly the worlds richest religion. Financial success is not a sign of a successful ministry. There are nearly 2 billion Islamic converts and the numbers are increasing daily. Doesn't make it a true religion.

I have seen threads on Joyce meyers and Benny Hinn. So I thought I would start one on Jimmy. Most tv preachers can obtain a 30 minute show for anywhere from 13,000 to 100,000 dollars a month and that is remarkable that they have that many people donating to their ministry.

The Swaggart family and associate ministers and Church, have their own network. They are on comcast, directv, dish network, Time warner cable, and many, many others and not to mention free over the air tv.

There monthly budget for all this, is about 3 million dollars a month.

They must be doing something right.

And get this. If you don't agree with their doctrine, they say I love you and go somewhere else. They preach the word hard and strong. Yet the money pours in.

They preach the old time Gospel and its working.

Your thoughts please.
Just more false prophets.

Christ taught the truth as a humble carpenter's son; he received no glory on the earth. The Apostles were beaten, ridiculed, spat on, persecuted, naked, poor - pretty humble for the gospel.

I don't care how rich these people are; Joyce Meyer nor Jim can establish Zion; that is the person I'm seeking.

That is who I've found.

I am so glad you brought that up. I watch them daily. If you note my
age, I have known of him from way back. Sadly he did get into trouble.
Do I have a difficult time with it ? Yes, I still do. But, I actually don't watch
his preaching. Yet I would if my husband would. He was repentant. And
like you said, 'he who is without sin ...let him cast the first stone.' So,
that aside....

I am a believer with 98% of all they teach. I first was put off by Donnie,
but began to look past his attitude and I have to say he knows the Word.
Frances? the Panel ? I love all of them.

I don't support them yet. I have not been given the go ahead from my
husband. I know there are a few little things that bother me. One in particular
since you asked... They do push THEIR BIBLE AND COMMENTARY AND BOOKS
as the only ones with TRUTH. Maybe so. I have not purchased any. I do know
they believe and I can't say they are wrong, the King James Bible is the only
one we should be studying. For me it was no problem. I do find new Christians
should have it and a commentary to help them understand the Word. Also it is
said some scripture is left out of new translations.

So as long as they stay on.. I will watch them. They ( Frances & Friends ) speak
truth that is badly needed.
Thanks for your topic.

That’s right

It rains on the just and the unjust alike.

The church has nothing to do with how much money that have got.

And you can't measure the blessing of the lord by money

Hello,

The SonLife Broadcasting Network has been airing, in my area, for almost 3 years and I had been a regular watcher. I have even supported this ministry for most of the time they have been on air. I have purchased many items from their ministry, including the Expositors Study Bible.

The problem I am having is that I have caught Donnie Swaggart in lies. He claims he has been married for 40 years, but fails to tell the audience that he was divorced from Debbie Swaggart and remarried someone else before divorcing her and remarrying Debbie a couple years ago. I know this might sound a bit petty to bring up, but something about the whole matter upsets be. If you want proof of what he said, all you have to do is go to the SBN website and look at the archives of the Francis and Friends show. Look under the air date 5/28/13. This man is so arrogant. I really do not care about his personal life, but I do find it important that he, a preacher of the word, should be truthful. I find it funny that he glosses over his problems and those of his father. They act as though the past never happened. He even claims that his father is like King David!! I firmly believe that everyone deserves a second chance and I believe that Jimmy Swaggart has paid dearly for his sins. He has the right to have his own network and preach what he wants, but I also have the right not to support him anymore.

Another thing that is becoming a habit is JSM's plea for money. It seems Jimmy Swaggart is always begging for a gift to cover the costs of many things that he claims the Ministry needs. I get the letters each month. I realize that ministries need money to run, but my problem is that Jimmy Swaggart is not a poor man. He is known as a land baron. He has said that he gave up millions of dollars because he did not go out "into the world" to make music, as his cousins did, instead he plays music for the Lord. Excuse me, but again I feel that he made that choice out of his own conviction, he claims. Now he brings it up. Why? To possibly make his flock feel guilty. Believe me, I doubt Donnie, Jimmy or Francis shop at Walmart. I do not begrudge anyone that has the money to acquire nice things, but something stinks to high heaven when they beg for money and are able to live in a house that cost more than what their flock can afford to live in. It seems that this " living higher than the flock" is a common thread all television ministries share. I am really disappointed and sad because I thought things would be different with JSM, but I guess I was mistaken. I really feel duped and especially stupid! I am guilty of trusting in what man says instead of what God says!! Time for me to REPENT and return to my first love Jesus!!!

I am not writing this to start gossip. I write from my own experience with JSM. Everyone else can follow and support whomever they wish. :)

God Bless.

The part of the story of the fall of JS that was missed, is that he used to be under the AOG (Assemblies of God) and when all this transpired, they told him he had to step down from the pulpit, stop his TV ministry and get counseling, marital and personal. He refused, even though he had placed himself under the AOG as an ordained minister. He said he wouldn't survive without the TV program and went his own way.

I used to watch him all the time until he fell in the 1980's. Personally, I liked his preaching in those days, but after everything happened, I realized he was a total hypocrite. I'm not talking an imperfect human being, but someone who was only out for financial gain.

In Canada, he was off the air immediately, and I have never heard of him again. We do not get his network, and I would not watch it. The fact that he won't take outside advertising is because he is a control freak, and doesn't want to be accountable in his ministry.

I do think people need to know about this, and not get sucked in by his charm and twisting the word of God, when his own life has been such a mess because of his sin, which he would not acknowledge or change. Who knows what the man does when he is not on the TV set??

This was a very hard time in my life, when JS fell, and it does bring back terrible memories. Christians were just mocked and made fun of because of him and Jim Bakker. They brought disrepute to the name of Jesus!

I knew this would come up. Let Him who is without sin cast the first stone. How many preachers do you know that have fell to this same situation. Is there any forgiveness among the body of Christ, or shall we talk about the millions that have been saved under his ministry.
All that I know is that he has been paid for his services.

Matthew 7:23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
