There are many Bible Promises like Length of Days, Peace etc. Each of them have a condition attached, and a Promise if you fulfil them. So for e.g. Proverbs 3 says this.

Proverbs 3: Wisdom Bestows Well-Being
1My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
2for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.
3Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

And so, what conclusion can we deduce from this?

(1) if you faithfuly seek after Wisdom
(2) if you love God and keep His Commands.

There are many blessings promised for this such as

(1) they, these commands, will prolong your life
(2) they will bring you peace and prosperity

and so on.

And if you bind love and faithfulness around your neck, and write them in your heart,

(1) you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Incidentally, of the Christ Child, it is said: "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." (Luk 2:52). So He Himself, who is Incarnate Wisdom, did these things, and received many blessings from His Father for them.

There are blessings promised to those who keep God's commandments. Why is this controversial? And the blessings of Abraham, which also means those promised in the OT as a whole, now come to us Christians, through Christ Jesus, as it says in many Bible passages. And as it says in 1 Jn, he who says he knows Him should walk as He walked, and then we will receive these blessings. There are many blessings, not just prosperity; there is spiritual joy, peace, contentment and more.

God Bless.

Also, the very first Psalm promises blessings for those who read and meditate on the Word of God. For those who don't, those blessings are lost. Doesn't even mean those who don't won't be saved; they could be, but they could lose blessings.

Here is the Passage:

"Psalm 1
1Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,

and who meditates on his law day and night.
3That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—

whatever they do prospers.

Do you want this Promise? What should you do to obtain it? Just two things.

(1) Your delight should be in the law of the Lord, i.e. in the Word of God.
(2) And you should not just read but meditate on this Word day and night.

In the Gospel, it is said: "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." (Luk 2:19). And so it is also said: "From now on all generations will call me blessed." (Luk 1:48). That's a blessing she received for doing that.

Not all believers receive the same blessings. Those who do what the Word commands will be blessed in their deed.
As it says in James, BSB: "But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom, and continues to do so—not being a forgetful hearer, but an effective doer—he will be blessed in what he does." (Jam 1:25)

God Bless.

We really need to define "judgement". I get accused of judgement every time I warn people about Judgement.
"Judgement" is what happens when the trial is OVER. It's the passing of sentence, nothing more.

We had a new guy come to our men's group. He said back in July he had several bad health issues surrounding his hip and leg, that the Drs. couldn't figure out what was the cause.

He grew up in the Church and kinda came and went, but wanted to rededicate himself to the Lord after he prayed to God about his health issues and was healed.

I said that was fantastic!
Then I asked him what would have happened if he wasn't healed. Several of us let out an audible gasp after hearing his reply. He said:

"Well that would have meant that my faith wasn't strong enough".

That reply, is what is so insidiously dangerous with the health and wealth, name it and claim it, prosperity gospel.

During our conversation he used the same verses that are twisted in Isaiah. And that God wouldn't want any of His children sick or poor.

It was almost like he couldn't grasp that ALL our bodies are going to decay and die. Or that God didn't heal Paul, even though he prayed 3 times for healing. He couldn't get, although God certainly doesn't want anyone to get sick and or die, He can and does use that for His glory and our ultimate good.

We told him of a woman in our Church several yrs ago that died of liver cancer. But for yrs, everywhere she went, every hospital she visited for treatment, every nurse and Dr, heard the Gospel, saw her faith and joy, and experienced Christ through her. Think of the people who could be in Heaven for eternity because this woman had cancer, even though she died from it.

Her husband said when she died she had an incredible glow and smile on her face.

So yes, God can, and does create miraculous healing. But like so much Scripture, people do not take in the WHOLE Counsel of God through His Word, but pluck out verses to fit a flawed and dangerous doctrine that can cause those just hearing the TRUE Good News, to fall away when their prayer isn't answered in the way they think it should.

It depends on what you know/have belief in and how well can you conform to the truth in spite of what you see.
My mom was healed of a tumor a long time ago just as a baby christian before i was born, no faith healer, no scriptures, she just flat out trusted God with it and when she went back to the doctors they couldn't find it.

I know for me i don't have straight out belief or that level of confidence so i had to have my mind worked on to where i was still able to cooperate with what Christ did on the cross and then i was healed. I felt like if God believes that He healed me the only thing i can really do is simulate being healed in my mind by acting it out there the best i could because of jeremiah 17:10.

Usually when we think of "healing" we think of flesh and bone mending itself but in retrospect i think the real healing was in my ways/inward acts and thoughts. After simulating being healed by all of those inner acts over and over again day after day it first did something to both my mind and heart and after a while it began to manifest itself outwardly and my sickness was gone.

Modern church will often times just tell a person to keep praying and begging God for something He already gave that they're not cooperating with. Most of what keeps people from recieving healing is wrong thinking. A person can be noble and do all sorts of good things for God but at the same time still not be cooperating for their own sake.

LOL, not hostile. Yeah I agree, never mind.
But seriously. It's easy for us to just say Osteens's teachings are antichrist and leave it at that. But haven't you ever wondered how we fell so far, from such great heights like Wesley, Aqinas etc?
