But I am open to learn. Pray, give the correct understanding of John 14, in its entirety, and within the context of the Book of John.
I trust you are sincere in being open to learn. So here is the correct interpretation of John 14:1-3

JOHN 14: CHRIST HIMSELF REVEALS THE RAPTURE OF THE SAINTS BEFORE HIS CRUCIFIXION

THE RAPTURE HAS NO CONNECTION TO THE TRIBULATION
Let not your heart be troubled:

CHRIST IS GOD, AND WHAT HE SAYS IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE
...ye believe in God, believe also in me.

GOD THE FATHER'S HOUSE IS HEAVEN, AND WITHIN IT IS THE NEW JERUSALEM
In my Father's house... [Note: it is called a city which has foundations, whose Builder and Maker is God]

MANY MANSION ARE RESERVED FOR THE SAINTS IN THE NEW JERUSALEM
...are many mansions: [Note: the New Jerusalem is a cubic city 1500 cubic miles in dimension. It has more than enough room for countless heavenly mansions]

CHRIST RE-EMPHASIZES THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER, SO THAT THERE IS NO DOUBT
...if it were not so, I would have told you.

CHRIST IS NOW IN HEAVEN PREPARING A PLACE FOR THE SAINTS
I go to prepare a place for you. [Note: this was said before Christ's ascension]

CHRIST HAS PROMISED TO COME FOR THE SAINTS AT THE RAPTURE
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, [Note: the Rapture precedes the Second Coming of Christ, so that the Marriage of the Lamb can be accomplished first -- Revelation 19]

CHRIST COMES PERSONALLY FOR HIS CHURCH AT THE RAPTURE
...and receive you unto myself; [Note: study 1 Thess 4 and 1 Cor 15]

THE ETERNAL HOME OF THE SAINTS IS IN THE HEAVENLY NEW JERUSALEM
...that where I am, there ye may be also. [Note: the glorified saints will have eternal union and communion with God and Christ]

OK. Thanks for the effort. You probably know this by now, having served on a Forum for a while. The biggest hindrance to the right understanding of scripture is not the wording of scripture, but what we have held in our minds for years. Your understanding, held for a long time, forces you to add concepts that are not there. My intent is not be "right", for that just causes the barricades to come up out of nowhere. Rather, I propose, for your consideration (over the next five years) the following reasons why John 14 does not address the Rapture.

1 "Let not your heart be troubled ..." Their hearts were troubled because of the verses that went before these. At the end of Chapter 13 our Lord was saying that He was going to His death and that the disciples could not follow Him. Peter swore allegiance unto death, but is warned of his fateful flight and thrice denial. Our Lord would pay a visit to heaven and return, but the troubled hearts were because of His predictions of a horrible death (13:36-38).

1 " ... ye believe in God, believe also in me." The Rapture is NOT built on FAITH. It will take place whether one believes or not. Your comment that Jesus is God is true, but here our Lord reveals that there are TWO people. The word "ALSO" implies another party.

2 "In my Father's house ..." The Rapture is NOT to the Father's House. You advised me to study 1st Thessalonians 4. Therefore, according to your own scriptures, we are raptured to the clouds and the air! Added to this, in verse 3, the Lord says that "He will COME again". I ask you; "COME from where?" You have created an absurdity. Your thesis has Jesus leaving the Father's House to "receive" the saints.

2 "In my Father's House ... " Your rendering the Father's House is a "private interpretation". This is forbidden (2nd Pet.1.20). The Father's House in the whole Bible is defined as a structure on earth in which God lives. One Tabernacle, Two Temples, The Lord Jesus' Body and the Church. In John the Second Temple is REPLACED by a resurrected Body (Jn.2). The Christians form individual "abodes" which belong to the House (1st Cor.6:19). The corporate extended Body of Christ is the Church, and the "house of God is the Church (1st Tim.3:15)

2 " ... are many mansions, ... " The Greek word means "abodes". It is so rendered in verse 23. There is no reason for using the word mansions unless the translators were suffering from a 1,000 years of Roman Catholic pagan mythology. It should read "are many abodes", or "are many dwellings". We are not Raptured to an "abode" but to the clouds and the air.

2 "... I go to prepare a place for you." If this was the rapture, why would Christ go to prepare a place? The clouds and the air are already there! But if the context was the death of Christ, then all is clear and logical. A man cannot be an "abode" of God if sin and sins are not atoned for.

3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." The salient theme in our discussion is is WHERE Jesus was going, WHY He was going and WHERE they disciples would be when He came back. The grammar says that our Lord Jesus was ALREADY AT THE APPOINTED DESTINATION. The disciple would be (future tense) at a "place" that Jesus was at the time of speaking. At the time of speaking, our Lord Jesus was on earth geographically. Rapture is the REMOVAL from earth for a journey. This also settle another point. The "place" that is prepared MOVES WITH JESUS. He GOES to prepare a "place", and when He returns He receives them into that "place"!

4 "And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know." The disciples knew where He would go, and by what way. How? Because this is what they had been discussing at the end of Chapter 13. And to confirm where He was going He alludes to, in verse 6, the "way to the Father". Immediately the day of Atonement is thrust to the fore. The High Priest takes the blood and goes to the Father. The WAY is by blood shed. But the rest of Israel (including Moses) may NOT go in to the Father. But the "preparation" that Jesus goes to accomplish will allow disciples AUDIENCE WITH THE FATHER! Rapture has nothing to do with audience with the Father. It is an escape from the earth to the clouds to be judged at the Bema. Rapture has NOTHING to do with Christ being the "WAY" to the Father.

I will close with one point. In verse 3 the Lord pointedly says that the disciples would be where He was at that moment of speaking. "You disciples will be where I AM now". In verse 10 our Lord Jesus says where is IS at that moment - "IN the Father and the Father IN Him!" And in verse 20 He tells the disciples where they will be "in that day". It reads;

"At that day ye shall know that I am IN my Father, and ye IN me, and I IN you."

If Christ is the Temple of God, God is IN Christ. Colossians 2:9 says that the "fullness of the God-HEAD dwells in Him BODILY", then God is IN Christ an Christ is the Father's House. If we many disciples are IN Christ we are many Temples. But if God is IN us then we are the "House of the Living God"

"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." (Rom.8:11).

Consider this. I predict that in 5 years you'll at lest be seriously considering that John is about getting God into man to make men the many "abodes" in the Father's House - the Church. The Opening Chapter is the same. Seven crucial things are revealed to end in BETHEL - the House of God.

God bless.

Your understanding, held for a long time, forces you to add concepts that are not there.
There you go. Your insincerity is now on full display. You said your were open to learn the truth, but that was a false statement. "...forces you to ADD concepts that are not there..." , just because you are unable to discern the truth. I have added nothing. I have give a plain Bible exposition based upon all Scripture.

Anyway, what I posted was not only for you, but for the edification of the saints. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Yah they are expensive and needs a lot of room plus care.

Shoot I bet I held on for a good 6 seconds. Not sure what a winning time would be but maybe I would at least qualify.

You either need strength, lack of brains, or just raw willpower to ride a bull or bucking horse for sport. I may have one of those covered so my odds may be good lol.
As a younger person I had all three of those things covered. I think if I would have grown up in Montana I would have been a bull-rider. Or I would have at least tried it.

I'm old enough to know better now.
