John the Baptizer was filled with the Holy Ghost while immersed in the water of his mother's womb. God's actions always have a purpose. Am interested in hearing others thoughts concerning what this action was intended to reveal?

what about the infamous free will? why didnt God ask john if he wants to be filled with the Spirit?

what about the infamous speaking in tongues as evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit? did john speak in tongues in his mother's womb?

something to ponder. all i take that verse to mean is that john was filled with the Holy Ghost, just so happened he was inside his momma's womb still ;)

John was consecrated from birth to the work for which he was sent. And all Israel flocked to him, even the unrepentant. Just as the spirit of Elijah was given to Elisha, the spirit of Elijah was given to John. So John the Baptizer was a very special man -- the forerunner of the Messiah. Yet at one point he began to wonder whether Jesus of Nazareth was indeed the Christ, even though he had testified earlier that Jesus was God and the Son of God.

JOHN 1: THE TESTIMONY O JOHN THE BAPTIZER
19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias
[Elijah] ? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Every Jew heard through John that Jesus is indeed the Son of God since he heard the voice of God the Father confirming this. Which meant that Jesus is God as well as the Christ.

That Gods Holy Spirit was who instituted baptism for remission of sins

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.”

That anyone who thinks it's okay to just kill the unborn is under gross deception.

Many men have been consecrated to the Lord at birth, but not all shall enter into the Kingdom. OSAS is an erroneous teaching set forth by Calvinites.

It reveals that God has a special plan for every man. We should all be paving the way for the Coming (Second Coming) of the Lord.

amen God was working by his spirit through certain chosen men long before this happened

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

…But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judæa, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:

And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, And signs in the earth beneath; Blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before that great and notable Day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

….Therefore ( David ) being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

…This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:4, 14, 16-21, 30, 32-33, 36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

in the ot the prophets writings like Moses , David , Isaiah , Daniel , Zachariah

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:19-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The same holy spirit speaking through John and the apostles spoke first through Moses and the prophets. And they also spoke the same things , by the same spirit but from a prophetic perspective witnessing forward to Christ and what he would later do and say in the gospel

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:5-7, 9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Isaiah was already preaching about what we read occurring in the gospel and what the apostles were preaching about after it occurred from Jesus death for sin and resurrection to his baptism and receiving the holy spirit , God declaring “this is my son in whom I’m well pleased you must hear him “ him preaching the gospel by the spirit the everlasting word of God , him inheriting creation him rising from the dead and being taken into heaven to sit at Gods right hand on David’s throne to him returning to gather his people and destroy the earth with fire ect all of it is in the Old Testament because the spirit was always speaking the same things about Christ whether before hand like the prophets , whether afterwards like the epistles , or whether the redoes of those things happening presently in the gospel past present and future it’s all about Jesus and the gospel

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

thats what Isaiah was talking about too it’s just more revealed to Paul because it’s occurred

when paul says “ according to scriptures “ he’s talking about the Old Testament writings like Isaiah who wrote and preached about the messiah dying for the sins of the people and being raised to life justifying the people who knew and believed in him

“Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

that Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead,

and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

pauls talking about this

“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.

Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; that thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves.

They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:6-10‬ ‭

All Roads lead back to Jesus because his spirit is who was speaking all along
