So word of mouth and the margins in YOUR study Bible.

At least tell me what denomination teaches that Lucifer was the comet that killed the dinosaurs or in charge of the creatures of the ''Old earth'' ?

again it is like the things not in the bible but knowledge, now i seriously tell you i do not know how the devil started the sin of pride but i can explain that lucifer was shot out of heaven like lightning, Jesus tells us this in Luke.

again Peter was crucified upside down but that is not in the bible but it is history. Alexander the great is in the bible but not explained enough to where you see the name all over the place

I don't buy the word of mouth passed on from Pastor to Pastor. Therefore its common knowledge. The Margins on your study Bible is a better source but only if you tell me what kind of Study Bible it is.

My opinion is that regardless of the Authority that I provide, you will not be dissuaded.

I agree totally with everything that you said. I would like add some more truth to the discussion. Satan was defeated by the work of Jesus Christ on the cross 2000 years ago. The Blood of Jesus defeated the enemy once and for all. Jesus has the released the captives and He has the keys of Hades. The only power that the enemy has over God's people is the power that they allow him to have. The sin that remain in people lives gives the enemy ground to opperate. The greatest enemy that we face now is "self." Self pride, Self righteousness, Self condemnation, Selfishness...God says that in the last days people will "decieve themselves."

friend i study with my pastor who also said he learn from his pastor or some other pastor that knew, plus i study it anyways by myself. Even stuff i learn comes from the Spirit but the lie will catch up sooner or later. Even my Study bible gives answers to what the answer of my pastor. Now i am not saying man is true but God is, and by studying more unlike having one resource you will find great wisdom in many friend.
Epistemologically speaking, you may belief what you believe but, that doesn't make it true or False, just a belief. However if you want to spread this belief to others, you are going to need at least some externally verifiable criteria for selecting your belief over say, mainstream Christianity.

Friend I would like to stop this argument for i might be wrong but this is something people just know....I really do not know where these people get this info...i pretty much in other place besides my pastor its even on the history channel and even people know they would talk about it....again I do not know how the devil became prideful from the beginning but i do know He was trying to take God's place as lord but failed.....there is nothing in the bible how Satan growed inside with sin, it just says what sin has done to him and his actions against God but it is information that we could find, well besides that only God might tells us that.
and friend why so angry this is not something i would spread but Jesus Christ....again this is something i studied not enforcing friend so why so mean?

Shalom to you friend

I think we need to be careful not to confuse "history" with "scripture". In seminary, future ministers study numerous historical works which help to put the life and times of Jesus into perspective. There is one in particular, the work of a Roman historian of the day whose name escapes me, that is often relied upon to prove the physical existence of Jesus on this earth. His accounts mention Jesus by name quite a few times and even discusses the "movement" he founded. But this is not scripture.
Scripture is the unerring Word of God, set down by writers who were inspired and guided by God's spirit. Second Timothy, verse 16, says "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,..." At the end of the Book of Revelation, the writer says "I warn everyone who hears the words of prophesy of this scroll: if anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away...,God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life..."." (Rev 22:18-19).
Therefore, when it comes to matters of faith, we must be careful not to allow "science" to cloud our perception. This, in itself, I believe is a trick of the devil. Remember the old bumper sticker which read, in part, "God said it. ... That settles it!"?
Nevertheless, your premise is correct. The devil is the "father of lies" who speaks the language of falsehood (John 8:44). We must constantly be on guard and evaluate our ideas of right and wrong in light of what the devil is trying to do. A perfect example, in my opinion, is the whole notion of "political correctness" and "tolerance". We are told that these are desirable traits, when in fact, according to Scripture, they are exactly the opposite.
Thanks for listening to the ramblings of an old man. :)

Josephus is who you were shooting for. I agree entirely with the notion of trying to keep science out of it. After all the very principal on which a scientific proof rests, cannot even prove itself.

To your second point about adding and subtracting, this I agree with even more so that with the first part. If we are going to be good Christians, we must play by the rules. No matter how fantastic some stories we've heard our Pastors give, if it is an addition to the story that we all read, know and love, it probably isn't Canon.

Even with all that said there are some fantastic books that didn't make the Council of Nicea's top 66. =)
