Hmmm.......let's see, I think you're asking "who killed Absalom?"

My guess is THE BRANCH (God) did. Absalom got his hair/head caught in a tree branch while riding on a mule. Then, Joab killed him with a spear right through the heart.

His father, David grieved for him.

Question: What OT prophecy points to Christ ruling the nations with "a rod of iron" during the millennium? ;)
I'm thinking it's Isaiah that talked about a rod of iron......... I'll need to go dig and find it! ;)(y)

Found it!!!

Psalm 2 King James Version (KJV)
2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Correct Lafftur! We have another reference to that but it is worded differently:

Isa. 11:4
"but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked." :)(y)

Is this what you mean?

Matt. 5:17, 18
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." :):cool:

Oh! Okay, I missed that "In Luke" you put in there.

Luke 24:44
"And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me."

Mark 16:1 "And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him."

The above tells us of a custom of anointing the deceased with spices. Question: Does that mean Jesus was not wrapped with spices according to Jewish burial custom? ;)

Ahhhhh, you're being sneaky! lol! This is kinda a tricky question....

There was beautiful costly perfume ointment poured out on Jesus for His burial.......

Matthew 26:12-13 King James Version (KJV)
12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

Great question! :)(y)

No, your answer will be in the gospel of John. It has to do with the wrapping in linen. ;)
