Thank you cv5,

I can accept that Joshua as commander of the Israelis army is a type of the Lord as commander of His angelic army. However, the 2 witnesses do not go in secretly in Rev. 11: 3. They are to witness of the Lord as Israel`s Messiah and coming soon to set up His kingdom.

So, anything else to show what you mean, thank you.
Adoni-zedek = anti-Christ
5 Amorite kings hide in cave = great men hiding in caves Rev 6:15
persecution of saved Gibeonites by wicked kings = persecution of tribulation saints
Gibeonites plead for Joshua to save them = pleas to Jesus of tribulation saints
giant hail of Joshua 10 = giant hail of Rev 16

MANY more parallels. A full treatment is impossible on a mere message board.

And YES the two spies parallels the two witnesses. No doubt about it.
Their presence and witness results in Rahab and her household being saved.
The entire pattern is intentional and rich with meaning.

Jos 2:9
And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.

Jos 2:10
For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

Yes, Rahab had saving faith. And was saved.
She HEARD of the God of Israel and realized that judgement was imminent, and RECIEVED THE WITNESSES with fear and faith!

Jos 2:11
And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.

How much faith is saving faith? Evidently the faith that heeds God's warning and repents is more than adequate.
BTW......Rahab had little (very little) time left. She was on the very cusp of judgement.

Same goes for the Gibeonites BTW. Their goose was cooked and they knew it.
Same goes for the thief on the cross......!

God will save ALL THOSE who call on His Name. Even Canaanites on the eve of destruction. Anybody. Everybody. All the time.

Jesus NAME is Salvation.

Thank you cv5,

To me it seems the parallels are just `pick and choose.` And yes I realize you can`t do it all here. So, I`ll just leave it there, but thank you again for your thoughts.

To me it seems the parallels are just `pick and choose.`
On the contrary:

Jos 2:12
Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:
Jos 2:21
And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.

What are these representative of? Should be obvious. And of course these parallels are undoubtedly intentional.

Hint:

Jos 9:9
And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the LORD thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,
Jos 9:15
And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them (a covenant of life and peace), to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

The Gibeonites wisely received a true token......a COVENANT of life and peace.
And this is what the Gibeonites say to Joshua/Jesus:

Jos 9:25
And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.

They put their trust and faith in the God of Israel, the Merciful God.......and get the mercy they had been seeking.

Good job Gibeonites!

Wondering about the Gibeonites and Rahab?
Glad you asked.

Thank you, cv5! Lots of interesting things to consider and ask the Holy Spirit to give truth and understanding.

Cv5, perhaps ask a simple Bible Trivia question that can easily be answered with scripture reference…. It’s still your turn…(y)

How many generations from Shem to Job?

Its a tough one.
So is it Job or Jobab? Are you saying they are the same? (Gen. 10: 21 - 29) (6 generations)

If it is Job of the book of Job I think he was an example of godly men before Abraham.

(Noah) - Shem - Arphaxed - Cainan - Shelah - Eber - Peleg - Reu - Serug - Nahor - Terah - Abraham. (Luke 3: 34 - 36)

Shem - Job, I think about 7 generations and then God brings in Abraham`s grandfather and father.

You are close....I count 6 not including Shem.

"Joktan was Peleg's brother, and it was in Peleg's time the continents were divided. Joktan's thirteenth son was Jobab. "

I did do `6,` for Jobab.
BTW....they were "messengers".....

Jos 6:17
And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

What is the message.....???!!

Jos 6:18
And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.

What is the accursed thing.....???!!

It was similar to this message.....

Jon 3:4
And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

The people of Jericho had fair warning. But only Rahab received their testimony.
Oh.....and the king knew of them and their message. In fact the king knew exactly where they were.

Okay, I have to admit I don’t really see everything that you see but, I am enjoying your enthusiasm over God’s Word! Yay!

Ok, here we go.

The four living creatures, symbolic of Christ`s 4 ministries. (Rev. 4: 7) What are they?

`like a Lion` -

`like a calf` -

`like a man` -

`like an eagle` -
