Joshua being tricked has always kinda bugged me!! I remember reading this story for the first time and I was so upset with Joshua because I think God had told him NOT to make any agreements with ANYONE. Joshua was to completely clean the Land of Canaan of ALL the "ites."
So important to inquire of the Lord before entering into any formal agreement.
