Before I make my comment. Please don't take this the wrong way. When Jesus taught, and shared, and preached, Did he necessary feel the need to shout? I know he shouted in anger when he went into the temples and saw the temple being used as a den of thieves. But Did he shout when he was preaching to the people? reason why I'm asking this, God bless the preachers today in churches, they preaching the gospel. But they are speaking through a microphone which then is amped through loud speakers, yet they still feel the need to shout. is that necessary? I mean no wonder why people are coming forward with prayer because they have gone deaf, is it to much? why do they need to shout? they can share the gospel without shouting surely? Not disrespecting them. Just find it unnecessary to do. I may be wrong?

I agree, I don't get the shouting that happens with some preachers, it's a bit much. Are they trying to wake up the congregation? I am all for passion, but there is line between passion and just being overly loud.

My pastor is the most awesome one I have ever had. His knowledge and application of the Bible is outstanding.

NO!! He has never once shouted or raised his voice. I think it is a theatrical thing - to be dramatic and attract attention. I don't know if that is consistent with the way God wants his word to be preached, although it is a very popular "method". I prefer the heart to method.

Not sure what they hope to accomplish by shouting.

Agreed. I'm not disrespecting any preacher that does shout. But I just find it unnecessary as they are already speaking through a Microphone that is going through a amp to louds speakers. just unnecessary. I don't like it personally. But I do respect them as they still sharing the gospel.

I heard his voice over his words. Preacher:FORGIVE US LORD! FOR WE ARE SINNERS, PRAISE THE LORD OR PERISH YOU ADULTERERS, WORSHIP KING OR BURN!: Me: the blaring..... everything going white......: oH LORD OR LORD, OH FATHER OH FATHER! 80% of the church blacks out.....
I think they yell to make ppl inspired. Or maybe it's their way of showing they are great faith..... Who knows?

On the other hand it seems a little off if a person is speaking/warning on eternal judgment with no passion, with no urgency, just a monotone flatliner. I know, I know, Johnathan Edwards, but still, I am for passion and urgency when the occasion calls for it. I am one though who normally sees shouting as hype but I have discovered a Jeff Lyles (google him) who sometimes shouts (almost) but his substance makes it well worth while.

True but there is a difference between a powerful speaker and just plain shouting in the mic( Owch!)

I may be in the minority but I love loud preachers! I think there is a difference between preaching and teaching one is one directional the other more interactive. But when I hear someone with that fire inside them not content to just speak the words but to yell them from the mountain tops so that every ear can hear them I rejoice. Now obviously some do it for effect and don't seem to be truely moved I don't like that but the ones that are moved are phenomenal!

God Bless

Here are a few examples, where Jesus most likely raised His voice.
There are many other occasions.
[h=3]Luke 13:15[/h] The Lord then answered him and said, "Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?

[h=3]Mark 7:6[/h] He answered and said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.

[h=3]Matthew 23:29[/h] "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous,

[h=3]Matthew 23:23[/h] "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

[h=3]Matthew 23:27[/h] "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness.

[h=3]Matthew 15:7[/h] "Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

It doesnt matter to me if they shout. Every preacher has his own way. As far as he is delivering the right message. I remember reading a pastors note that says why cant people say the pastor instead of pas is it too much to ask. I message our pastor immediately asking if he is offended by the way we call him. And that if he is we will change it. He said Not at all actually when u call me pas I feel like were close. Every individual is uniquely different from each other.

Accept people for who they are. God didn't bring people into your life to make them just like you. God made us different on purpose.-Pastor Rick Warren
