Luke 11:34

The lamp of the body is the eye.

Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light.

But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.

35) Therefore take heed that the light which is on you is not darkness.

When I read this,

I started to think about how people judge others.

People are quick to judge by what they see,

say for instance,

a homeless guy sitting on the side of the road, some might think, he's a looser, so they see a looser!

But through the eye of Jesus we see a child of God, worthy of the same salvation we claim is free!

If we look at someone with the eyes of judgement, it brings darkness!

If we are to be free from the Law of sin and death in our own lives, we need to stop judgeing people and start loving people.

We need to see people through the eyes of Jesus!

We are all sinners, worthy of death!

We are to look through the eyes of Love!

God is Love!

Those who obey God, love others!

The same holds true with what we allow our eyes and ears to take in, for what you take in will inevitably come out. Whether it's x-rated material, drama, or whatever it is that you feed upon, eventually it will poison your inner man and flow out of you as you engage others in your daily life.

In Mark when Jesus said the same thig about the the eye, he was obviously dealing with the problem of lust of the eyes, mammon and greed, love of money.Where our treasure is, on earth or in heaven. He is saying, have a single eye towards the Kingdom of Heaven and God, then your whole being will be full of light. But if you have a single eye towards mammon, riches, evil, your body will be in darkness.

Anytime we get our eye off of the two commandments,
Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself, we missed it.

We are to have our eye on love 24/7

God is Love, and those that love are of God!

Love is the key to understanding all scripture.

Luke 6:43-45

For a good tree does not bear bad fruit,

nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.

For every tree is known by its own fruit.

For men do not gather figs from thorns,

nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good;

and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil.

For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

The truth is,

that no matter where you live,

or what color you are,

or how much money you have,

what gives a person life is Love,

the lack of Love brings death!

That is the truth of God in each one of us,

no one is with excuse for not knowing the truth about God!

Proof is all around us and in us!

But will we choose to believe, like Abraham did when he heard the voice of God!

Will we choose to show the face of God to those who don't know what love really is?

Will we lay our own wants and needs down at the feet of Jesus and trust in Him to provide what we need,

and start doing what He wants us to do,

not worry,

and share our lives with those around us,

showing people love, not in lip service, but in action!

Stepping out to Love our neighbors, not judge them!

Listen to them, help them in time of need,

don't try to fix them, let them see your light!

Believe me,

they will want to know Jesus,

when they see the love.

You don't have to force feed people scriptures,

All they need is the living word and the power of Love, backed by the testimony of Jesus!

When we obey God and love, the Holy Spirit moves and scriptures come alive.

The power of love is what changes peoples lives.

God is Love, (1 COR. 13) The Love chapther, who God is!

I think this is one of the reason we are told; "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2)

For if we have our eyes on things in this world (1 John 2:16--"the lusts of the eyes") how do we walk?
"(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)" II Corinthians 5:7
