The eating and drinking reference in Matt 24:38, could this perhaps be a reference to celebrations, or perhaps maybe wild out of control parties, like orgies?

It seems to me to be people continuing to go on their way devoid of Yah.

Matthew 24:37-39, “And as the days of Noaḥ, so also shall the coming of the Son of Aḏam be. For as they were in the days before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noaḥ entered into the ark, and they did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also shall the coming of the Son of Aḏam be."

Hebrews 11:7, "By belief, Noaḥ, having been warned of what was yet unseen, having feared, prepared an ark to save his house, through which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to belief."

2 Peter 2:5, "and did not spare the world of old, but preserved Noaḥ, a proclaimer of righteousness, and seven others, bringing in the flood on the world of the wicked,"

Genesis 6:9-13, “This is the genealogy of Noaḥ. Noaḥ was a righteous man, perfect in his generations. Noaḥ walked with the Mighty One. And Noaḥ brought forth three sons: Shĕm, Ḥam, and Yapheth. And the earth was corrupt before the Mighty One, and the earth was filled with violence. And the Mighty One looked upon the earth and saw that it was corrupt – for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth and the Mighty One said to Noaḥ, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And see, I am going to destroy them from the earth.”

2 Peter 3:1-18, "3:1, "This is now, beloved ones, the second letter I write to you, in which I stir up your sincere mind, to remember"3:2, "the words previously spoken by the set-apart prophets, and of the command of the Master and Saviour, spoken by your emissaries,"3:3, "knowing this first: that mockers shall come in the last days with mocking, walking according to their own lusts,"3:4, "and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all continues as from the beginning of creation.”"3:5, "For they choose to have this hidden from them: that the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by the Word of YHWH. Heb 11:3."3:6, "through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water."3:7, "And the present heavens and the earth are treasured up by the same Word, being kept for fire, to a day of judgment and destruction of wicked men."3:8, "But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Psa 90:4."3:9, "יהוה is not slow in regard to the promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward us, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 1Ti 2:4."3:10, "But the day of יהוה shall come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with intense heat, and the earth and the works that are in it shall be burned up."3:11, "Seeing all these are to be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be in set-apart behaviour and reverence,"3:12, "looking for and hastening the coming of the day of YHWH, through which the heavens shall be destroyed, being set on fire, and the elements melt with intense heat!"3:13, "But according to His promise we wait for a renewed heavens and a renewed earth Isa 65:17, Isa 66:22 in which righteousness dwells."3:14, "So then, beloved ones, looking forward to this, do your utmost to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,"3:15, "and reckon the patience of our Master as deliverance, as also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,"3:16, "as also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these matters, in which some are hard to understand, which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures. 2Co 11:6."3:17, "You, then, beloved ones, being forewarned, watch, lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the delusion of the lawless,"3:18, "but grow in the favour and knowledge of our Master and Saviour יהושע Messiah. To Him be the esteem both now and to a day that abides. Awmĕin."

It is a depiction of life going on as normal, as if nothing cataclysmic was coming. "They knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away."

Usually this is self-explanatory so that a child will understand it: here Christ is simply and plainly saying that people will be going about their usual everyday business and routine; that's all He is saying.

It is a reference to carnality, being wrapped up in the world and not giving God a second thought.
It will be the same when Jesus returns.

Or it can be just plain out of control parties where people lose self control at one point or another.

1 Peter 4:1Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;[SUP] 2 [/SUP]That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:[SUP] 4 [/SUP]Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:[SUP] 5 [/SUP]Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.[SUP] 7 [/SUP]But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

May you hear His warning below.

Luke 21:[SUP]33 [/SUP]Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.[SUP] 34 [/SUP]And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.[SUP] 35 [/SUP]For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.[SUP]36 [/SUP]Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Why do people's minds automatically start thinking about wild out of control orgies etc. from Matt 24:38 is bazaar.

eating and drinking at wedding receptions, did you even concidered that to enter your mind at all possibly?

the more I see stuff like this, the more I'm convinced satan has many hook, line and sinkered, more so just in mere thoughts.

Actually, in case people are not aware of in detail, have a look at the dictionary definition of "orgy". I used the collins dictionary and it was quite interesting the description. There is more than one description.

Through some research I have come across something very interesting, something called "Ancient Roman Religious Festival of Bacchanalia" has anyone ever heard of this?

what fancies your interest in orgies?

what does the Romans have to do with the people in Naoh's time?

All I wanted was to have a simple discussion. Guess that was too difficult. Instead I get labelled as my mind going rogue when one doesn't know all the facts.

What was the reference to eating and drinking? what and how was the context used? Considering the time frame period when the book of matthew was written. The way how people spoke and the way how people understood the words being used in the time period concerned. We need to eat and drink to survive. So end of the day what was the context? Is it a over indulgence?

If one even looks at the word "orgy" in the dictionary, its uses can be varied, and can even be used in the context of "excessive indulgence" which could be applied to various scenarios, including over eating and drinking. It is not uncommon for one word to be used in more than one way.

well let's be real about it, I don't think in your opening statement was about excessive indulgence but of wild parties like orgies, sorry but that was pretty direct as to what you meant.

But hey im not harping on it but I often wonder why do people have to give examples using sex all the time. more and more of this stuff I see in bible discussion.

But I do agree with your statement of excessive indulgence, the people Naoh's time were probably more concern with where the next meal or drink was to be had, then anything else.

Matthew 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe (Noah) entered into the ark,

They were eating and drinking, and marrying, and giving in marriage to the fallen angels. If you think that is not possible, that is exactly as it was in Noah's day as he entered into the ark. Friend that is what is starting to happen, where even churches are catering to Sodomy, and all forms of ancient Baalism, and they think it is of God, they are accepting it because they are ignorant of God's holy word. Pray to God that you are not of that mindset, for it is part of the mark of the beast. No the mark of the beast is not any form of an electronic device, but a mindset that conforms to the doctrines of devils.

Before Christ returns the entire world will accept the doctrines of this locust army of fallen angels because they will be taught in their church houses to do so. If you are not one of the elect, you will accept these angels as being from God, and you will agree with everything that they say, for if you do not have the seal of God in your forehead, your mind, God will allow the delusion to come over your mind. It is not too late to know the truth now, but that time is getting near when it will not be your choice.

Just before Jesus Christ return to earth these angels will be working miracles, with their leader, Satan, and this is possible because they are supernatural, just like Satan is. They are not of flesh our human substance. What happened in Genesis 6 is going to happen again, so make a point of getting to know the chapter.

Matthew 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the son of man be.

It is going to be exactly as it was then. The people of the earth thought the merry times and times of peace and prosperity could never end. As Noah preached and told them of the coming flood, they laughed and made fun of him. During the reign of the Antichrist on earth, your family and friends will think of you as some sort of nut that has lost mind. They will be so convinced that Satan is the true Christ if it were possible they would kill you for him, but it will not be possible. Then the seventh trumpet shall sound, and the entire earth will see Christ coming in all His glory, with all the saints, and terror will streak through their minds, for they will see and know how they have been deceived.

If you do know the true word of God, then praise God, and stand tall, and rejoice in the Lord. This is the time of victory. Paul talks of this day in I Corinthians 15:54-57; "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory." [54] "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" [55] "The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law." [56] "But thanks be to God, Which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." [57]

Those that have the gospel armor of God on, will be the ones to have this victory in Christ.
You start to put it on when you repent to God, in Jesus name, and believe in His word. You read it and study it, and He will lead you through those deceitful times. God is our strength, and we get our strength for His word.

I didn't think about the fallen angels part. Just noticing one word now that sticks out, "they". So the reference to the fallen angels makes sense. Fallen angels, Nephilim. That really makes more sense now. Thanks for the input.

And yes the days of Noah there were hybrids, this I know.

And we have evidence of hybrid creations being done in labs today.

I just had a look at another translation, Apostolic Bible (in my bible software), it didn't occur to me until now to do a cross reference, and in that translation, instead of "they" i see the reference to "the ones".

Anyways, and something else I remembered just now, giving in marriage (greek it is ekgamizo G1547), also means to marry of a daughter.

You are correct about the churches catering to Sodomy.

The eating and drinking is something we do every day, the part that Jesus want you to know is they were marrying fallen angels, when satan returns claiming to be Christ the fallen angels are coming with him and they will marry again, that is why you should have a cover over your head, the cover is Jesus. God bless
