I am so elderly I have heard Hitler speak. I would search he faces of the people I met in the streets of America, aware that some of them were the same kind of people who Hitler could convince to kill for him.
American government, at least, is taking the same steps toward this sort of government that Hitler did. Pastors are being told scripture tells them to give government authority and obey, so pastors are to forget that government is not to take over God's roles. They do not have the right to order anything against God, to make it legal. Scripture tells us to bend to their rules, unless they ask us to disobey God's rules like abortion and gay marriage. There are many steps Hitler took to gain control from God's control, economic and social, and a study of them is frightening.
I was able to meet and learn from several people who had lived under Hitler and thought he was wonderful. A lady who was part of Hitler's Youth said it made her feel she was part of something bigger and better than she was, very like children feel when they become part of Christ. A man who had been in the SS troops looked at the waste in America. There was no waiting around for organizations to look into a project or votes to take on it. If government decided it was a good project it was done.
