Thanks for the Scriptural Evidence...sorry I asked... (NO laughter...)
You are greatly loved!! Be encouraged!(y)

Receive God’s Word the Bible with joy, be thankful you have a Holy Bible, then ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and give you understanding.

Then, you will know Truth and the spirit of confusion will not be able to operate in you.(y)

however, all you actual prophets, should give great care not to say 'thus saith the Lord'

I'm slowly learning to be increasingly careful. Interpreting dreams is tricky, especially without discernment or word of knowledge. It can be like seeing through a glass VERY darkly, where you make out certain things but the big question is: Who are the subjects in this dream? Is it about this person or about that one?

I chalk it up to experience plus prayer. As someone posted, you grow into the gifts, and you have to learn from your mistakes, despite the erroneous notion that perfection somehow falls upon fallible human beings the minute they begin entering into the use of a gift.

We may end up disagreeing on a few things here and there because I'm brand new here and have no idea what everyone teaches, but that post just earned you a follow. I don't identify as a prophet either, but I have had prophecies fulfilled many times now, several of which have saved forums elsewhere from impending spiritual attacks. But even those I have helped protect have sometimes not known exactly what to make of me; it's like I bring the storm with me, and they wonder if I'm not part of the problem. And I'm an emotional man, so it's not pleasant when those I try to help mistrust me. But I stand my ground in what I am, and refuse to back down from my calling, and as a result people tend to come back around, even if they are highly suspicious of me for a time.
I can tell you walk in this area powerfully because you said it is like you bring the storm with you. Often times it isn't even the prophecies of a person that distinguishes them as a prophet but the chaos that follows them, this was also the case for the prophets of old as well they knew all about being lonely and how they were not well received.

But the prophet is perhaps the most complex of roles in his kingdom and there is more than one kind of prophet as well and they work differently, for instance I am whats known as a seer I don't give prophecies very much but I often see dream like visions often times in the poems I write I have always felt a kindred spirit with David and so I write poetry but I don't get many prophecies and I recieve dreams sometimes but not that often.
But like you I am an emotional person and as I am sure you can attest to if you feel anything you really feel it so the feeling of rejection can be harsh and honestly I have been severely attacked in forums to the point that for a long time I ignored my calling fearing any more attacks from people. I am wondering have you had a hard life and suffered in kind of an unfair way like life just has it out for you? I have found that many who have gone through a lot in life are often called into the gift for whatever reason I don't know

Honestly I can't say I have the gift of interpretation I can sometimes tell the meaning of a persons dream but for my own I almost always need interpretation, @Lafftur is actually very gifted in this area

YouTube is a full of those people. It’s almost mockery in my opinion. Many of them might not even be aware of their actions.
Then why do you watch what is unprofitable? You sound far, far from understanding the basics of genuine Christian faith.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

If any scripture is wrong. Then all scripture can be ignored. Because it can not be trusted.

Lonely since childhood. Parents who fought a lot and a mother who was rarely there, followed by a series of failed relationships.

Thankfully I made a wise choice in a wife, as she has both the toughness to stand with me and the understanding to make me feel like a have a real partner in life.
But like you I am an emotional person and as I am sure you can attest to if you feel anything you really feel it so the feeling of rejection can be harsh and honestly I have been severely attacked in forums to the point that for a long time I ignored my calling fearing any more attacks from people.

Then let me encourage you with something. Was discussing this passage elsewhere, so it naturally came back to my memory. It's something servants of God who suffer opposition especially need to be reminded of from time to time:

14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your advancement may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. (1 Timothy 4:14-16)

Oh really... how interesting.

@Lafftur. You interpret, sister?

This is rare. It's usually the other way around. Interpreting other people's dreams is much tougher because if they are personal, you have to do some digging, though the Spirit through you will questions that lead in the right direction.

I thought the basics was to turn from your evil and believe. Am I missing something?

@Blain.

I meant "will ask questions through you that lead in the right direction."

I like this forum, but I have to say I'm not too wild about the five minute time limit on editing my posts, Lol.

ONLY if the Lord tells me the interpretation. I do so love to hear peoples’ dreams. I do find the Lord speaks through dreams - not all dreams but, a person will know when it’s a special dream.

A man once said, “I’ve had a crazy dream. A cow eating cheese. That’s nuts! Cows don’t eat cheese!”

I started laughing (I do love to laugh) and said, “Oh silly, it’s about your business. You’re company is eating it’s profits….like a cow would eat cheese. Your company is being wasteful, you need to streamline. Watch your bottom line.”

Dreams are wonderful! I’m so glad Jesus gives us dreams!(y)

A few more verses you might like that explain why we have to strengthen ourselves as soldiers, and continue to fight the good fight of faith:

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage a good warfare... (1 Timothy 1:18)

1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 3 You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier... I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. 12 If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy 2:1-13)

If you are a threat to the enemy, he directs his attacks at you especially, and after a time it can really beat you down emotionally and spiritually. Hence the need to be reminded of the fact that we are called of God and have a job to do, and that we should keep stirring up the gifts that are in us because we are in a war, and our gifts serve as weapons in our hands against the tactics of the kingdom of darkness.

Very good! Lol. That one would have taken me a second; probably would have had to walk off and seek the Lord in prayer before I picked up on that one.

Yeah, it's always the really weird ones where you know there's something to it.

I used to interpret like a maniac for strangers at CF.com. That unfortunately turned into a ton of thankless work, and drained me out. Now I'm far more selective. The body of Christ is dreaming all the time, but few know how to interpret very well, so you lay yourself wide open to getting trampled under foot, and accuracy wanes because you're not spending enough time digging and being careful enough.

Ran into a sister who receives about world events and spiritual warfare going on (rather than just about her own personal life all the time), so I'll give my time to her stuff. And I still will if God calls me to about somebody's personal dreams. But I learned my lesson about becoming a free vending machine for everyone and their grandmother. I'm not the Christian version of the psychic hotline, Lol.

If you like to laugh, you'll have good company when I'm around. I switch from theologian to goof off in an instant.

Somebody posted a verse yesterday that I hadn't noticed before, and my reaction was, "One of those verses that's hiding in plain sight, I guess," and added the following picture.

I had a wonderful dream about Jesus...probably about 7 years ago...

It doesn't require an interpretation, it's just something Jesus was making known something that is probably going to happen in the future...

The dream opened at a crime scene where a horrific murder had been committed and there were two male detectives collecting DNA samples. They looked at each other and said, "Well, I think I've got enough how about you?" The other replied, "Yeah, I'm good. Let's go back to the lab."

The next scene as at the computer crime lab, one of the detectives puts a glass vial of blood and hair samples in a special slot in a computer then, looks at the other detective and says, "What do you think about 30 years old, maybe 185 lbs judging from the depth of the shoe imprints?" The other detectives agrees and then hits Enter on the computer.

A life size hologram of a man about 30 years old, 185 lbs is projected from the computer into the center of the room. It's not animated, it just stands there. Then both detectives walk all around the hologram, stop and look it in the eye and say to each other, "Well, now we know who were looking for and we'll recognize him when we see him."

The next scene, was DNA scientist taking blood samples from the linen cloth that Jesus Christ was wrapped and buried in. They put the blood samples into the same type of DNA/Hologram computer and typed in 33 1/2 years old, 175 lbs. Then, there He was...life size...in a hologram...Jesus Christ...standing in their midst...not antimated....just frozen and standing in there midst. Amazing!!

The computer software DNA/Hologram of Jesus Christ went viral ALL OVER the Internet into all nations.....people could download it and project Jesus Christ life size in their homes, right in front of them and look right into His eyes. Absolutely AMAZING and WONERFUL!!!

Here's the dilemma....Jesus Christ in His human form before His resurrection is not good-looking...He's kind of ugly, tall and lanky...kind of like Abraham Lincoln. There's nothing about His physical stature that would draw a person to Him. Only the Holy Spirit could draw you to Jesus Christ.

The next scene was a TV broadcast where a lady newscaster was saying, "So, is this the Son of God? He's so ugly! Yet, people are reporting all kinds of spiritual encounters when they see the hologram while others are saying it's just a bunch of nonsense. You decide....is this Jesus Christ, the Son of God?"

Lastly, I heard Jesus say to me in the dream...."Every eye will see Me, right before I return." Then, I woke up, amazed and excited!(y)

Oh my... :D

You know, this actually may involve a little interpretation where fulfillment is concerned, because while it is prophesied that He will manifest Himself visibly to church councils in larger cities in the end-times, this dream could be saying He will fully manifest Himself through the church even before that. We are His body, and when we manifest more of His Fulness in the earth, it will be something like a hologram of His image in a way; a facsimile if you will of the Real thing, yet in spiritual form.

Just throwing it out there without having the time yet to really analyze it for more. But the True image of Christ in His character isn't quite as "attractive" as some people think either. When He comes (manifests), He brings judgment, and chastises, and disciplines, and He is not quite the lovey-dovey, all grace and forgiveness kind of guy many think He is. The Real Jesus executes judgments, and He will upturns table and cause all kinds of chaos when He shows up, no matter form.

Whatever the case, that's an excellent dream, and I read somewhere in scripture that it's true; there's a prophecy regarding the Messiah that "his visage was not comely" or something like that. I'd have to find it.

How would one know if they are truly called to be an Apostle or Prophet? What would be the measure to use to see if they are genuine?
Essentially anyone who says they heard from God, and were given a mandate to be an apostle, is one.

The NAR has a quasi leadership. They may recognize certain "apostles" and anoint them for ministry. This was the case with Todd Bentley as seen in the following video. This is one of the creepiest things I've ever witnessed. That's right, Bentley, the one who divorced his wife and married his mistress; the same one who brags about kicking an elderly woman in the face with his biker boot because the "spirit" told him to.

At the beginning of this video we hear from C. Peter Wagner that he (Wagner) presides over the International Coalition of Apostles; now known as the International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders. If you click the Membership Information link you'll find that memberships range from between $350 and $650. Oh, and "Membership fees do not include fees for conferences or summits." You have to be a qualifying apostle to join:

"ICAL is a professional society of apostolic leaders who are recognized by a significant segment of the church as having leadership gifts associated with the Biblical definition of an apostle and who have been ministering through this gift with the evidence of Godly fruit for a significant period of time."
So in the beginning you had C. Peter Wagner claiming he heard from God that he was to be an apostle and the movement has grown from there. You can claim to be an apostle, but the perks don't really kick in till you're anointed by the apostolic leaders. Listen in the video to Wagner saying: "I decree to Todd Bentley, your power will increase; your authority will increase; your favor will increase; your influence will increase; your revelation will increase." Sounds more like a black magic ritual. Bentley acts like he's become demon possessed. Wagner goes on to say: "A new life force will penetrate this move of God." Not the Holy Spirit, but the "life force."

It's all about big money and power. You won't find the Holy Spirit here.
