What Christ said. Strictly that. To believe on Him, that He is the only Son of God and the only way to the Father. That if I love Him, I will keep His commandments. I don't see how wrong I can go with that.
well...to go back to what i had originally said...a big portion of liberal protestant denominations don't believe any of that nowdays...

so can you do what many christians seem unwilling to do and reject those denominations as not christian?

I don't know enough about them to pass judgement on them. Just because you call them foul means nothing to me. I know many Methodists in my area that are rock solid conservative Christians. These judgement calls you're making are bogus. The founder of the Mormon church is as false prophet. You're saying that's true of these denominations? You're making ridiculous unfounded accusations.

you say you don't know enough about these denominations to decide...and then you say i am making unfounded accusations...

all it takes is a little research to find that these denominations have been corrupted to heretical extremes...

for just one example...the ELCA employs a seminary professor who says that the canaanite goddess asherah is the holy spirit...

and that is just the tip of the iceberg...

That is total garbage. You must be a conspiracy theorist or something. My cousin is a Lutheran minister. I think he'd know about this and would quickly change churches. Cough up your proof for these idol, unfounded accusations. Actually, what you're saying is slander.

on this seminary professor's blog she writes..."Are we feminists right in saying that Asherah was just the Canaanite articulation of the Holy Spirit and not really another God?"

here is a link to her blog...the offending quote is about halfway down the page...

now stop being so hostile to people who evidently care more about knowing the truth than you do...

Even if this is true, I hardly think I'd condemn a whole denomination because someone wrote some crazy blog. There are nuts in every denomination. There are many good Christians too.

well, if I was to say, yea they're Christians, than I would be leading you to go and be with them in their churches and become apart of what it is they're into, so my answer would be, those who follow the teachings of Christ, those are the Christians.

it isn't just one isolated individual...the entire theological leadership of the ELCA holds various heretical views...

if you want to dismiss the seminary professor's blog post...what about something the ELCA publishing house actually published in a study bible?

the first printing of the 'augsburg fortress lutheran study bible' includes this..."Jesus includes in salvation people who do not believe in him or ever know about him."

that would be heresy if you believe jesus is the only way to salvation...

I can't believe it. You're trying to discredit an entire denomination over some "supposed" blog written by one person? If that's even an actual Lutheran college professor? The difference between me and you is that I actually care about the truth, not about slander and gossip created over one single potentially bogus blog! Yes, I get hostile towards people that do their best to defame denominations over internet gossip! It's absolutely disgusting. I think you should look up what God says about gossipers! What He thinks about them! It's dead wrong to slander denominations in which thousands of good Christians go to church every day who believe with all their hearts in Christ. It tears apart the body of Christ. What does that make you? Christ's enemy, that's what. Now, I'm done with you. I'll not respond to you anymore.
well it has become obvious that you are determined to defend false teachers and attack the real christians who are opposing false teaching...i wonder why?

Is mormonism christian? No. Are there any christians within the mormon system? I'd guess it can be so. Some that for some reason was strayed or lured into it. That would be my two céntimos on this.

I know some Mormons myself, and they certainly try to be upright Christians. Unfortunately, most of them know next to nothing about their own denomination. They are grossly misinformed in that regard. I do believe salvation comes from our personal walk with God, however, I certainly wouldn't want to belong to a church where the founder was a false prophet. The man had to have known he was lying when he claimed he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ in the flesh, unless he was a schizophrenic, which I hardly think was the case. Therefore they have a liar for church elder. Would you want that?
could have seen a demon posing as a beacon of light. ;)

so every denomination is correct and everyone should have no problem allowing every denomination spread what ever they want?

Even if they preach against GOD's word?

Just as long as "thousands of good Christians" go there we shouldn't tell them that "hey, truth is over here, there is more over here, what your doing is not right"

nope. don't buy it.

Heaven's no, Jinx. I don't believe that. I just think we never should judge other denominations unless we know absolutely for sure what they believe, and even then, let's be careful. I've never known a Lutheran or a Methodist that didn't confess Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, and the only way to the Father. I've never known a single one of them that didn't consider the Bible God's inspired message to mankind. I go on what I know in real live people, not on what I read on the internet or hear through on the gossip channels.

and i go by what their teachers and theological leaders actually say and write...not just 'i talked to a united methodist once and they sounded saved so that denomination must be ok'

great many,,,millions of Israel were condemned by the preaching of one man "Christ",,,,,great and wide are the gates, yet few shall enter,,,,,,,,,,,,,locate the largest church and rest assured they are incorrect.,,,,,

the false prophet will preach his sermon to the whole earth,,and most of the earth will be deceived, the truth will be preached the world over, and the gate of belief will be so narrow it will be as an camel going thru the eye of an needle.

if a man of god spoke the truth,,,his broadcast will be canceled because of low ratings. if the false prophet give sermon it will be on the world news. you will be feeding the beast, and petting him when you look at the feed in your hands and find the church.

i am not Mormon,,i do not endorse it,,,,yet i wonder who will come for you when you all move them out of the way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

What I said wasn't about how many people are going to heaven. It was about judging denominations that you know next to nothing about. Make a statement on here and you have to cover all your bases, because someone's gonna come out of the woodwork and accuse you of something that had nothing whatsoever to do with what you were talking about. I think it's the fact that we're just typing every thought that crosses our mind, rather than speaking directly to anybody. When you read a post that's directed at someone in particular, it's a good idea to read all the prior posts about that specific subject. Then if you have something to add, address the point being made, how bout?

I read that blog you posted. That woman came from a Haitian background. That's why she uses Moshe Rabbenu as a symbol of Satan. There was nothing heretical about her blog. Obviously you just didn't understand her. When she metaphorically asks Moses, "are we feminists right in saying that Asherah was just the Canaanite articulation of the Holy Spirit and not really another God?" She was asking an honest question! Obviously you didn't understand that question. All she was asking (her virtual Moses) was if the Canannites actually were worshipping the Holy Spirit when they worshiped, but they just called Him Asherah. It's just a question. Again, she said in this article she'd like to ask Moses some questions when she was talking about some mountaintop experience. Oh my gosh! Heresy heresy! I think we should condemn every last Methodist right now for that! Maybe you should read through articles and try to understand them better as well as see people as individuals rather than making their seemed opinions on something represent entire world-wide denominations.

By the way. I have known many Methodists. One family in particular I have known for 20 years. I've gone to their church, attended Sunday school with them, eaten countless meals at their house, including holiday meals. I've attended countless Bible studies with them. I do KNOW Methodists. You DON'T. You clearly only know what you see on the internet, and you obviously don't even interpret that right.

The world calls what you do "trash talk". You're good at it. Great example to the world!
