John 16:These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mike,
Is your grandma a believer in Jesus?
Here is a general verse and will be praying...
1Cor 15:54 But when this perishable will have put on imperishability, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come to pass the saying that is written, Death was swallowed up in victory.
1Cor 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O Hades, where is thy victory?
1Cor 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
1Cor 15:57 But thanks is to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

"It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

I'll pray for you both. Cast your cares on the Lord, and He will sustain you. Send me a message if you'd like to talk about it. :)

Why is dying always seen as a time for mourning? Your grandmother is about to embark upon an eternally awesome adventure with God - and I don't mean figuratively but literally. I don't mourn those who die, I envy them. The only reason I can see for being sad about someone rejoicing before the throne of God is because I'm not there with them yet!

oh okay, seeing that she is a believer in Jesus, here is one more specific...
1Thes 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Thes 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
