Need some help untwisting some Bible verse. ...

Ok someone I love is caught up in this cult and their teachings and they are teaching some very strange things. I want some help untangling the mess they have made of the Bible. I'm going to research their "studies" and go point to point to show how they are NOT following the Bible and how they teach a FALSE CHRIST and a FALSE JESUS.


for those of you who think i'm being judgmental, don't bother to post.

its a cult when you teach that a Korean man born in 1948 is the second come Christ or something of that nature and believe that the "heavenly Jeresualem" is a woman who is the incarnation of "The Heavenly Mother God"

Never heard of it either until a couple weeks ago.

so far i have found the above website. spoke to one of the "deaconess" and know for certain that this man they are claiming is the second come Christ is a fake. He is NOT the Holy Spirit. that is NOT what the Bible teaches.

just kind of upset and my heart is troubled by all the lies and deceptions the devil has these people enslaved to.

so if you would pray with me that would be great. thanks.

Dear God: You know our hearts, You know our weakness and blindness and sins, you know our works and our needs and every day You set before us the work You would have us do. Today my heart is troubled and I do not know what to do but I turn to You Lord and place it all before You. God help us say the words that will reveal YOUR truth to those trapped by the lies and the false gospel preached by those who would claim the glory that should belong only to You Lord. Help us know how to speak words of Truth so they might tear down the strongholds that are in their minds and the false idols they have set before them claiming that they are YOU. A man who is born and died and is still dead in the grave is not YOU Lord. Christ was NOT a Korean man. They have just enough of Your truth Lord to trick the hearts of the young and undiscerning. God I'm left speechless and I know I'm powerless to do or say anything that will have any positive effect without Your grace and power, so I will trust in You Lord to handle this and to place in my heart words of Truth to reveal how their twisting of scripture is not better than Satan's lies in the desert to tempt Jesus from God. Lord You are the Bread of Life and You came to place in Your people a NEW Heart and a NEW Spirit. not to teach a new ceremonial law concerning Passover. You came Lord to establish a relationship with Your children. the Gospel is not about a NEW "christian passover" its about renewing the mind, adding diligently to your faith, virtue, knowledge, self control, brotherly kindness, and love. God please open their eyes to the truth and their hearts to humbleness and repentance. Allow them through godly sorrow to return back to You Lord as you have taught us our secret faults may all the world repent and turn again to You Lord. May we be lights unto the world and speak words of living waters that flow from our hearts. Lord help us be a people that You are not ashamed to call Your children. In Jesus Holy Name we pray, amen

You titled your post 'need some helping untwisting some Bible verse' but never posted a verse that was being twisted.

ummm its kind of complicated they twist almost all the verses in the Bible to fit into their beliefs. For example:

"His followers call the founder Christ Ahnsahnghong, and believe him to be the second coming even though he has died.:

I was there for a couple hours listening to her spill, the main thing i'm shocked by is that he didn't see through the absurdity of it all.

this "Christ Ahnsahnghong" can't be the HOLY SPIRIT described in the Bible.

but if you want I'll try to recreate the brainwashed logic that was presented to me.

I think we started in Matthew because she wanted to show me how Christ would come again and how this man fulfilled the scriptures in Matthew 24.

you know i've heard some strange things on these forums, but have always found the people I meet in real life believe even stranger things...God have mercy...


Let me see if I can reconstruct her twisted argument...

she read Matthew 24

"32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it[d] is near—at the doors!"


"so you know this is a parable right?"

"yes"

"and this is about Jesus second coming and the end of the world?"

"no not really this is about the destruction of the temple as Jesus said in verse 2 and the end of the old covenant and the beginning of the new, mediated by Christ. the end of the age doesn't mean the end of the world" <I start to read it to her, she cuts me off. I try and show her the verses, most people know how that part goes, she gets upset and says>

"Did you come here to argue or learn what we teach?"

<I gave her this look, we both knew I only came here because I cared about my friend and they were trying to brainwash him. I wondered if she really wanted me to say it outloud>

"Ok you don't have to agree, I"m just going to teach the study."

then it gets complicated. i could go verse by verse but basically she gave me verses and made a bunch of inaccurate premises that the fig tree parable was about Israel (which I agreed with)

however then she had to somehow establish that it had to be cut down:

we agreed that these parables was concerning Jesus preaching to Israel and how the fig tree is Israel. however before I could show her verses about how Gentiles are grafted wild branches and that the root of the Tree was Jesus Christ, she kind of jump back into the OT and pulled more verses out.



In the end she concluded that Israel was cut off in 70 ad, scattered around the world, gathered back after the Holocaust (which she thinks fulfills Matthew 24) and the "Christ Ahnsahnghong" was born in I believe the date is 1948. not sure because i'm not good with dates.



its just kind of twisted. i'll try to post the other verses she posted but just thinking about it gives me a headache and my friend went out again this morning to go to another of their services. i'm not sure why he keeps wanting to go it really bothers me. i think its just curiousity and I guess I went to stranger meetings in college and he has to figure it out with God's help.

he says they have some really good studies that don't jump all over the place like the "Tree of Life" study. i have no clue what they might be teaching about that. we discussed it a little on our way home. today they are doing a study on the seven churches.

can anyone recommend a study that doesn't twist it around to mean that the Heavenly Jeresaleum is some woman in Korea, the incarnated God Mother or that Jesus Christ came back as a now dead man Ahnsahnghong? (yeah she kind of got offended when I called her goddess "some woman" and i am NOT attaching the word Christ to that man's name unless i'm quoting someone's exact words)

In order to effectively teardown the strongholds you only need two things, the first and most important is the Spirit of God guiding you in all truth and the second is the truth of the passages.

secondly and yes i am praying with you on this one. in order for the seed of truth to be heard and reconized the one hearing must have a willing heart to accept the truth.

Amen i say with you on your prayer. and i will continue to meditate on this prayer and on your situation

No. It is the preaching of the cross that tears down strong holds. It took down the USSR and the western wall of Germany and is now at work in China. But, I 'm afraid that we have not kept our own garden as the U.S. is accepting ungodly things.

yes it is the teaching of the cross, i was merely pointing out that in order to effectively teach the cross you have to know the truth of the teaching.
and yea i agree us is looking like one sad garden..... GARDENING TOOLS AT THE READY WHO IS WITH ME???????
