[h=1]Nehemiah 2:4-6 King James Version (KJV)[/h][SUP]4 [/SUP]Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.

[h=1]Nehemiah 2:4-6 Amplified Bible (AMP)[/h]
[SUP]4 [/SUP]The king said to me, “What do you request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven. [SUP]5 [/SUP]I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your presence, [I ask] that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, so that I may rebuild it.”[SUP]6 [/SUP]The king, beside whom the queen was sitting, asked me, “How long will your journey take, and when will you return?” So it pleased the king to send me, and I gave him a definite time [for my return].

4 The king was asking him what he wanted him to do, the king had the power to fix the problem. He prayed quickly before he spoke, he did not have time to pray long but took a moment to pray, sometimes that is all we have. He asked to king to allow him to rebuild the city, this was stopped earlier by a king and only the king could allow it to be started again.

5-6 The queen was there with him he granted him to rebuild the city just wondered how long it would take often times on building a time frame would be given, we do not know how long it would have been before he saw his home, he has not accurate idea of how long it would take because of this, he gave him a time frame though because the king requested one, then plans are made before he leaves.
