I love this combination of verses that run parallel to the same thought in the first verse

Mark 8:35 For
whosoever will save his life shall lose it;
but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

2Ti 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:
for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Phm 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed,
when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

2Ti 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Luke 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

1Cr 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:
lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

1 Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:
for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Luke 11:28, "But He said: Yet, rather, blessed are those who hear the plan of Yahweh, and keep; (guard, preserve, and obey,) it!"

Luke 11:28, "But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”"

Weaving Isaiah 30:20-21 between a couple later on

Isaiah 30:20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner: any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers

Acts 16:14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

1Thes 1:6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

The last verse 1Thes 1:6 shows the affliction as is shown in Isaiah 30:20 as well I left both unhighlighted there, see the afflictions of the gospel in 2 Ti 1:8 also

1Cr 4:15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ I have begotten you through the gospel

Phil 1:7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace

James 1:11 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Ephes 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

2Thes 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth

Of course saving yourself from the threat of burning in eternal hellfire had nothing to do with your becoming a Christian, it is only logical that sacrifice of an innocent man is the only way God can forgive sins. As written in Proverbs 20:25, It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make inquiry.

[SUP]8[/SUP] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
[SUP]10[/SUP] For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
[SUP]11[/SUP] But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
[SUP]12[/SUP] For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:8-12

Kinda makes you wonder about the passage of Joshua 7:15

And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.
Joshua 7:15

Since I am not a Christian, I guess it going to be me that gets burnt alive. O well, don't forget to bring some marshmellows since it would break my heart if you didn't have funs watching me burn.

And why take the last verse, take the last three in any combination speaking the same

1 Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:
for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Luke 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

1Cr 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:
lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
I changed up the last three

No one needs to 'get burnt'.
Do you have fun mocking the One who suffered and died in your place, taking the wrath of God upon Himself?
