In no way does that in any rational application of common sense validate OSAS.
Your references refers to our status after G-d has passed judgement on our righteous life on this earth....after death.
Once He declares we have eternal salvation it cannot be lost.
While on this earth after after proper repentance and baptism we are ,,,,,born again....not saved.
I just NOTICED the GLARING ERROR in your LAST SENTENCE, sorry I did not read it close enough.
I write this to ENCOURAGE YOU, in your Christian Walk.
BORN AGAIN IS SAVED. SAVED HAPPENS THE DAY YOU FIRST BELIEVED.
I think I know where your confusion lies, but I will deal with that at the end of this post.
BORN AGAIN, happens BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN YOU CAN REPENT. HOW DO I KNOW? YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT IN YOU TO BRING THAT TOTAL CONVICTION OF UTTER SINFULNESS, AS
HE IMMERSES US INTO THAT SPIRITUAL BODY OF CHRIST. YES THAT CONVICTION BRINGS DEEP REMORSE FOR THE SIN WE HAVE COMMITTED. I CRIED FOR HOURS.
Your Expression of
after proper repentance I suspect, is nothing more than WORKS of Righteous, and WE WERE SAVED WHILE WE WERE SINNERS AND AN ENEMY OF GOD - Rom. 5:8-10. THEREBY we were SAVED by the GRACE of GOD - Eph. 2:8-9, TOTALLY APART FROM WORKS.
Titus 3:4-8 (HCSB)
4 But
when the goodness of God and His love for mankind appeared,
5
He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that
having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
8
This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.
NOTICE: It is
NOT BY THE WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WE HAVE DONE. END OF SUBJECT. Yes, Christians do works of Righteous, but THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY THING TO DO WITH OUR SALVATION. Those WORKS are a product of GOD's LOVE poured or sown into our HEARTS,
Rom. 5:5; and you appear to want to take credit for it. So what DOES SALVATION have to do with? It has to do with:
but according to His MERCY, and GRACE.
Now You think climbing into a Baptistery caused you to be BORN AGAIN. Don't you?
That theology is so wrong, that it is hard to believe someone Churches Teach That. NO, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH WATER, and while it is a Public Identification with Christ, one step in our Christian Walk, it is not THE BAPTISM THAT SAVES or Results in Being Born Again.
1 Peter 3:19-21 (NCV)
19 And in the spirit he went and preached to the spirits in prison
20 who refused to obey God long ago in the time of Noah. God was waiting patiently for them while Noah was building the boat.
Only a few people—eight in all—were saved by water.
21
And that water is like baptism that now saves you—not the washing of dirt from the body,
but the promise made to God from a good conscience. And this is because Jesus Christ was raised from the dead.
Now when did you personally ask JESUS CHRIST to come into your life to rule?
If you are a REAL CHRISTIAN, it was DAY 1, that the genuine FAITH CAME IN.
That is WHEN you were BORN AGAIN, and SAVED. And if you have NEVER invited HIM IN, I sincerely encourage you to DO SO.
Revelation 3:20 (NASB)
20
'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
He will not kick the Door of your Heart Open, you Have to Open the Door and Invite Him in.
In that moment of time, The Holy Spirit Comes IN, birthing YOUR once DEAD human spirit into Eternal Life, Poured GOD'S LOVE into You Heart, AND, HE IMMERSES US INTO THE SPIRITUAL BODY OF CHRIST OF WHICH HE IS HEAD, AND WE ARE THE MEMBERS.
THAT IS THE BAPTISM (IMMERSION) THAT SAVES, ALL OF THE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS.
1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (HCSB)
12 For as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body—
so also is Christ.
13
For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
And the statement that :
born again....not saved, is so wrong, however, I think I know where your confusion lies.
You really think Salvation and Sanctification are the SAME THING. Am I right?
SALVATION - happens the Day you became a True Believer. It is the Birthing of our human spirit into ETERNAL LIFE - John 3:5-7, the Pouring of GOD's LOVE into our Hearts - Rom. 5:1-5, and the IMMERSION of our human spirit into the spiritual body of JESUS CHRIST - 1 Cor. 12-18.
SANCTIFICATION - Is a process of LEARNING to WALK LIKE CHRIST. It involves Studying the WORD and applying it to lives, BECAUSE WE LOVE HIM and the Brethren - John 14:15, 1 John 3:14-19. Anything that we DO for Christ that does NOT have a MOTIVE of LOVE FOR HIM, is nothing but Wood, Hay, and Stubble; or FILTHY RAGS that are no value to it - 1 Cor. 10-15, Isa. 64:6.
You see, GOD SAVED US Birthing our Human Spirit into Eternal Life, the day were first Genuinely BELIEVED.
Then comes the LIFE-LONG Struggle or Striving to become more and more like CHRIST and that is called Sanctification.
If all of this sounds like FOOLISHNESS to you, there is a reason:
1 Corinthians 2:14 (NIV)
14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
If this is the First Time you have really surrendered to Christ because you LOVE HIM.
Welcome to the Family of GOD!
