YOUR salvation depends on YOU doing what JESUS said to do.
If forgiving others is one of those deeds, then you are required to do it.
God does not make requests.

Mathew 6:14-15
14“For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15“But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. "

Jesus said it's necessary to forgive...
You seem to be happy that YOU are saved.
Does your salvation require you to follow the teachings of Christ?

James 1:22
22But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
As I read your post here I actually felt a pang of horror and fear for you!

I am truly saddened for you. PLEASE don't be one of those people saying "Lord, Lord, did not WE DO ALL THIS GREAT STUFF IN YOUR NAME", on judgement day.

You don't want to hear Him say, " Depart from me, I NEVER knew you".

Oh. And maybe you could begin to use verses that actually back you up.
If you do not agree that works keep us saved,,,
it means you're against works.
1 peter 1
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

romans 8
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Who was this person?
Hi PennEd, her previous screen name was Fran, but the powers to be banned her from the forum. That is why when you see GodsGrace101 people who answer her posts call her Fran.

She pushes a false grace plus works gospel to maintain your salvation.

Luke 23:43

Because you said above , that is why I asked you the question , and yes , I read my Bible every morning , I love to read in the quiet time with a nice brewed coffee...
Going back to the question , what if a believer who cannot communicate and is paralyzed , and has done no works for our Lord , does our Lord cast him away , I ask like I said , you believe works keep us saved...xox...

Thanks. I remember Fran. Does she admit that is who she is, or is it speculation?

I would not say ATTAINED through faith, if I were You.

Faith is a work of the Holy Spirit, and NOT SELF.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (HCSB)
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift
9 not from works, so that no one can boast.

Now wouldn't that be VERY Closely related to Blaspheming the Holy Spirit ? ? ?
Hi VCO, thank you for posting this critical point. Walkingtree is double minded and so is his counterfeit gospel.

Keep preaching the word! :)

obey what? The commands given Israel through Moses? The commands given through Moses minus the Levitical service (sda style), or the commands given through Jesus? They aren't the same. Do you believe you are sanctified through the obeying the law given Israel through Moses?
If not, I can agree with much of what you posted.

You have the WRONG IDEA about the Purpose of the LAW, it is to drive you to your knees Weeping and REPENTING OF SIN.

Matthew 5:18 (NCV)
18 I tell you the truth, nothing will disappear from the law until heaven and earth are gone. Not even the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will be lost until everything has happened.

WHAT THEN IS THE PURPOSE FOR THE LAW:

Romans 3:20 (KJV)
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Acts 13:38 (NCV)
38 Brothers, understand what we are telling you: You can have forgiveness of your sins through Jesus. The law of Moses could not free you from your sins. But through Jesus everyone who believes is free from all sins.

Romans 8:3-4 (CSBBible)
3 What the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering,
4 in order that the law's requirement would be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

maybe you could read the sermon on the mount, ( I told you this yesterday , you ignored it ), and then see if you keep that standard 100% of the time.

because, at the end Jesus states "you shall be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect . "

God's standard is perfection . can you be perfectly obedient ?
You need to do a LOT of studying...
You do not understand the N.T. and I'm not going to teach it to you...
Sorry.

Talk about splitting hairs.......and exactly why you miss the truth Fran........
Well Dcon,

"For" does not equal "by" and indicates the process of creation BEFORE the reason one is created for...........

FAITH is what saves, justifies and positionally sanctifies a man before GOD........works do not finish off, embellish or help the aforementioned 4 bolded words
Whatever you care to believe is fine with me....
But for those seeking the truth...
faith includes works.

Works of obedience.
Obedience of faith.

Faith in Jesus Christ
produces Obedience in Jesus Christ.

Romans 16:25-27 Paul says:
25Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past,
26but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;
27to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen.

No sir.
I push a works plus grace gospel to maintain MY salvation.
You'll have to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12

You should also read
Thessalonians 2:13 that tells us we are saved through sanctification by the spirit and faith in the truth.

I don't know if sanctification is well-understood by some.

i don't think that's true..

i typically leave for work very early in the morning, and i get dressed in the dark so i don't disturb my wife.
i don't NEED to do that - it doesn't keep my marriage together, and she tells me often i can turn on the light, that she will be fine. but i do it because i love her and i am being thoughtful. not because it's required in some way.

Well Rosemary,
I answered you.
Did the thief on the cross do any works?
What did Jesus tell him?

Most persons on this thread have two arms and two legs and a brain and can do things.
I'm having enough problems trying to proclaim the truth here....
It's not necessary to bring up this type of question.
If you read your bible and know God....then you and I both know the answer.

Do you have affairs?
Do you have ANY rules in your marriage?
Can you do anything you want to do?
Are there limits set?

I've been married 54 years. I could ask plenty more questions.

Some things we do for our spouse to be nice, and this is very good to do.
Some things we do or DO NOT do because we know that IF we did, we'd be in trouble and our marriage would be in trouble.

Would I love to see some honesty here....

P.S. IOW, it's your love for your wife AND the fact that you stay within constraints that KEEPS your marriage.

I'm lying??
OK.

Then clearly say that it is necessary for us to OBEY GOD in order to maintain our salvation....
I cant do that because then i would be teaching we earn our salvation by our works not grace, and in doing so, reject grace. And reject salvation.

But you refuse to see that, because your trying to earn your salvation with your works, good luck with that. I will preach we obey out of love, we love because he first loved us, not in order to gain his love, something you have no understanding of.
Or if you can't go that far.
confirm that it's necessary and required of us to OBEY GOD.

(something you have not been able to do till now).
Why wouod this be any different than saying i MUST obey in order to EARN my salvation.

You can twist words to fool yourself, but your not fooling me.
