would you believe man was more progressed at one time than we can know today? Read Eccl 1:9-11, 3:15, and realize that GOD has watched this all playout before, with the exceptions of Christ's birth, death, resurrection, and ultimate Return (main points only); and GOD wants to have a perfect state again like HE had in the Beginning (only slightly different, the Transformation from natural to spiritual). See why HE can write the Book about the end of man's sin?

I don't think that either of these verses are talking about progress technologically, etc. Look at 3:15 in the context of the previous verse. It is talking about what God does, has done and will do.

14 I know that whatever God does,
It shall be forever.
Nothing can be added to it,
And nothing taken from it.
God does it, that men should fear before Him.
15 That which is has already been,
And what is to be has already been;
And God requires an account of what is past.

Does not the question read 'anything'; or shall we allow man to take us off of the absoluteness of the statement, just because it doe not 'fit' with what we are taught or now believe on the subject? Suit yourself on this; but, as for me, i can well understand and believe that this has all played out before, up and until the Great Flood (the old world which was destroyed by the great fountains of the deep which broke up (erupted) and caused it to rain. Sounds like serious vulcanism to me, which could have easily buried all traces of that world, whereby there is no remembrance of it.)

I agree this does bring up that question, but the chapter 3 passage was talking about God and if you look at the context of Chapter 1, particularly verse 8 it does seem to be talking about man kind and the way that man is. In otherwords when it comes to the way we act/sin there is nothing new all has been done before.

I doubt if man was once more progressed than he is now, and I think it is a mistake to believe that we are more progressed than those that have preceded us.
