We had a long discussion on this question on another board. The short answer is yes, a seal is expected to be broken. The purpose of a seal is to let the recipient of something know if that something has been tampered with. When you buy a gallon of milk it has a seal on it. That seal is to let the buyer know that the milk has not been tampered with since it was packed. In Paul's day a seal typically was wax and was often on documents to show the recipient whether or not someone tampered with the document. If a king sent a letter to on of his subjects he would typically press his ring into the wax to seal it. If the the seal was intact the subject would know it was from the king and that it had not been opened or tampered with.
And since God did the sealing - that sealing is sealed - much better than the seal on a gallon of milk; much better than a wax seal on a document - it is sealed so tight that that seal remains until the day of redemption. That is what is said in Ephesians and that is what it means. The Holy Spirit born within us and sealed within us is how God has marked us as his - we belong to him because of His Spirit and the Spirit of Christ dwelling in us -

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:8-10

It is in the flesh that we are dead but in the Spirit we are made righteous and we have life - It is that Spirit born within us that God looks at and that Spirit born within us that remains in us and that is how we have right standing before God - through the Spirit. But now the righteousness of God . . . even the righteousness of god which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all them that believe . . . THAT IS OUR RIGHT STANDING BEFORE GOD.

What can we learn from the 5 foolish virgins ? were they once seal and had the Holy Spirit ?Did the y lose the Holy Spirit ? if yes does that mean that the seal was broken ?

stop excusing your sin. All sin is willful sin. that is not what that passage is saying. get over yourself.
I never excuse any sin which I commit, so you can keep your false accusations to yourself...or just keep on blessing me with the same...whichever you prefer.

"Get over myself"?

Too funny (not really).

IOW, you should have begun that sentence with the following, "Thus saith the guy who exalts himself over the Word of God, 'Get over yourself'".

Take your own advice, hypocrite.

I will speak for myself thank you. But don't you also know the word of God - what you should do and what you shouldn't do? And doesn't your flesh war against your Spirit so that sometimes you don't do what you should? And when "we" you or I do something that we shouldn't and know we shouldn't, isn't that willful? I think Paul even wrestled with this - I think we all do . . but I could be mistaken . . . I am just going by how scripture describes the enmity between the flesh and the Spirit.

I did not mean to offend you. I hope that you can remain civil with me while posting and I will have the respect to remain civil with you. :)

hey still sealed ?
Does this say if a man "draw back" - I remove my Spirit from him? If any man draw back - he is not saved?

THE CONTEXT is one of "drawing back UNTO PERDITION" (Hebrews 10:39).

Looking back would mean you've made a conscience choice to choose the world... Some war with themselves " after getting Holy Spirit ", myself including on the choice that they've made to go ahead.... and not look back

That is not Belief. Calling yourself a Christian doesn't mean you have Belief. Being baptised into the death burial and resurrection of Christ, born again as a new creation; that is Belief. And that Belief comes from Faith, which is a gift.

No verse says it's impossible for a Christian to cast aside, make ship wreck his faith, have a heart of unbelief. It is therefore possible a Christian can quit believing and fall away from the sealed group of those that maintain their belief.

So you are saying one can have the Holy Spirit and seal then look back and go into the world and lose the Holy Spirit or break the seal ?

could noah break his seal if he stopped believing God would flood the earth?

better, yet, Would noah stop believing?

you ask because you do not understand, Your in the same situation noah was in. God will send the whole world to hell. The difference is, he made the ark for you. are you going to climb in before it is too late? or be shut out on the last day? (or die before you climb in)

A person who has humbled himself to the point of the cross. in saving faith, would no more stop believeing Gods judgement on sin, that noah would
One's unbelief does not make God go away or stop God from what God intends to do.

If Noah had quit believing God was going to flood the earth thereby disobey God and not build the ark (break the seal) would he been saved anyway? No.

It's still there, we just war with our own heart... until we figure out who we really are... " Children of God ". I thought I wanted the world... I found out I really didn't...

What does this mean ?

[h=1]John 12:35-40King James Version (KJV)[/h]35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

Then they never were to begin with, we follow our heart... If our heart with consciences chooses false spirits and the world, then their heart was never with Christ..

Yahshua is talking about a confused heart here... He doesn't know where he's going or coming from... No plan, no intent... Just wondering, fighting himself
