Sin brings us away from God. Not because God wants nothing to do with us when we sin but because we turn our back on God when we sin. Also sin is just bad for us. It leaves us feeling miserable and trapped. Jesus dies to save us from our chains of sin. That's Amazing! Its like if you were in prison for a long time and then someone let you out and then afterwards wanting to be back in prison. That is not to say we will never sin, we will. But sin is just so disatisfying compared to being set free.
God bless,
Dave
I like this, nice metaphor using sin, as prison, because that's exactly what it is, I'm not damning anyone to hell though, this isn't a reply to you Dave, this is for JGHG, why would anyone want to put themselves back in prison, it's like cutting yourselves, why would I tell someone, it's ok, just keep cutting yourself.. I want to shake them, give them a hug, tell them God loves them, and turn from your ways, if we do our sins are forgiven, it's the only way things will get better for anyone in this life, it just so happens it also apply to Gods favor, and getting to heaven as well, living righteously, no one said it's easy, but it's right.
If Gods on your heart and mind, we want to do it right, I'm telling anyone that decides to keep sinning after being saved, I can assure more pain is coming, TRUE STORY when I got out of this Bible program at (17) .. I knew I was different when I came out, I've never felt that way, fell back asleep within a week, wanting (the life) being liked and just caring about what everyone else thought about me. Six months later, I was first in parish jail with (c-murder) and other guys, my cell mates charge was four kid nappings and armed robbery and in prison, that's right a D.O.C. Prison at 17... Almost got my teeth knocked out by the biggest guy at a prison, within my year sentence...
I will tell you'll from experience, it only gets worse, till we learn to do it right. (Won't even mention my second sentence in prison) first example should be enough, Now tell me why would I ever want this to occur to another individual ? I would tell anyone, be sincere and give your heart to Jesus, good things will come of it, maybe night overnight like with me, I really really needed Him though, when I went to God the second time, so not everyone's situation is the same, personality none of it, what's beautiful, we're all different. If we want to walk with Christ though, we have to literally, walk with Him in righteousness as He is. If people keep on sinning after being saved and bad things happen, don't blame any of it on God, it's our own fault, period.
