I didn't know if ya'll caught this or not in my above post, but notice the wording of the remnant that remained....

[SUP]3 [/SUP]And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire."

Now compare...John 6:13
Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten."

You can see the types and shadows in the law, and how the law was being fulfilled by the True High Priest Jesus Christ and His sons, as was also symbolized in Aaron and his sons.

The 5 loaves of showbread that David received represent grace. It was not lawful for him to eat them, but he was held blameless for doing so. That is a picture of grace, and that grace sustained him for the 13 years that he was humiliated in the wilderness. Then he received power.

Regarding this, David first ruled over his own house (Judah) for 7 years, then he ruled over all of Israel for 33 years. Maybe this has something to do with ruling over one's self before ruling over something greater?
That sign in David of 7 and 33 is also shown in the law, and also in Jesus' age at 33.

Notice the law of purification....

Leviticus 12 "And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,[SUP]2 [/SUP]Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled."

It was 7 times unto Messiah, and at age 33 Jesus was crucified. Also notice the mention of the woman giving birth to the man child in Revelation 12:13 "And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child."

So again, David was a type and a shadow, as was also the natural law a shadow of greater spiritual things to come.

This tells me that the 12 baskets of bread leftovers were for the priests of the covenant, i.e., the lord and his disciples. Take care of the people's needs first (sacrifice for sin), then feed the priests with the leftovers.

Check this part out, the Holy Spirit is awesome in comparing spiritual things with spiritual. Again notice the wording...

"And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.[SUP]5 [/SUP]And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel."

Now compare here....

Revelation 14:4
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
