I pray I can be the good soil for my Savior!

Matthew 13: 18-23 (NIV) “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Its all about that good harvest when it comes from God. One small seed can grow and make many more.

Matthew 13:23
(23) But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Proverbs 1:5
(5) A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

All of these types of soil is an explaination of the hearts of God's children. All are saved eternally but their level of knowledge of God's word is not the same.

That's not the impression I got however, I hope for the sake of many that believe simularly as you that you are correct. If not then a lot of people are in trouble.

Where do you get that from the text? I'm totally bewildered.

mmm I think Shroom is mistaken about you. you don't sound like any Calvanist I've ever meet. Most of them are not Universalist.

Deuteronomy 30:18-20
New King James Version (NKJV)
18 I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. 19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.

Don't read me wrong, I don't believe the scriptures teach that allmankind will be saved eternally. Matt 25:46.

If all scriptures do not harmonise together, you do not have the truth.
That's why you do not have truth, Forest. The scripture you misuse to "prove" your beliefs do not "harmonise" with all the scripture that say we DO have a choice to repent and come to God, and that God does want all men to be saved.

John 17:2, As thou has given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. If God gave him all mankind, as you say, then all mankind will have eternal life. That does not harmonise with other scriptures.

But that is exactly what it says. Who is not given into Jesus hand?

Don't know where you got your take on the parable of the sower from. Seems not unfair to say it could be your private interpretation. While you apparently correctly and rightly hold to the sovereignity of God in salvation, which includes election, your view of "the eternally saved" is quite unclear and far fetched. Do you hold to the error of eternal justification?

Where are the objectives for justification/salvation if there is basically no dividing line in beliefs and doctrine, and the fruit of regeneration? Was Paul all wrong when he judged that those that are ignorant of the righteousness of God revealed in the gospel were lost? Can a person who believes in a false gospel be regenerate? Can a regenerated person be ignorant about the righteousness of God revealed in the gospel? These questions cannot be answered in the positive without going against scripture.

I asked you a very serious related question (which you either missed or didn't want to reply to) in the thread Those that God gave Christ, which is located here:

http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/34376-those-god-gave-christ-9.html#post594463 <- link

Now, if you will, you may give us a clearer picture of your thoughts on these matters.

Who is not given into Jesus hand?
[/QUOTE]Those that reject him.
Those that reject his commandments.
These are not given into his hand to shepperd.
And when we are not sheppered by him, all sorts of catastraphies can happen, and will happen.

These ones are left up to Fate. Anything goes. No protection. No armour.

No direction, just the wide path that leads to destruction.

The fruits of their doings they will reap.

We are not left up to fate. For we know our direction, and we have entrusted ourselves to the Lamb of God. We have hope, and fear is cast out, for we suffer only for the lambs sake. For the Word of God, and we are outcasts to the world, but beloved to the lamb.

If our fruits match the worlds, then we will have a share in their punishment.

THE SOWER & THE SEEDS

The Great Sower went to sow some love seeds
The seed was perfect they all looked like little beads
He threw the seeds this way and that as he walked
The Angles sat around watching yet no one talked

Some of the love seeds landed in thorny ground
As they grew rushing to the sky without a sound
The weeds of life choked the marriage till it is no more
The marriage is over and someone walks out the door

Some of the love seeds fall into stony ground
They to rush skyward without a sound
But the earth is shallow nothing deep for the seeds to hold
This marriage is short lived or so I’m told

Some of the love seeds fall on good ground
There roots go deep yet there is still no sound
This marriage is ready to face what life throws at them
Through thick and thin there marriage is a real gem

To you who have been divorced the sower is still sowing
He works hard even in the dark with the moon glowing
You are a beautiful person no matter what you’ve been told
And God has planted the best love seeds in your soul !!!!

“To the whole world your just one person BUT,, To one person you could be the whole world “

THE END
