Paul's advice was not to ask the source of the meat. I eat meat. I don't check out the abbatoir to find out if it has been certified halal. There again, I would not buy meat from a halal or kosher butcher as that would imply that I approved of the Muslim/Jewish custom. You do yourself a disservice by not immersing yourself in the whole of the New Testament. Did you know that along with Revelation, the gospels were the last books of the NT to be written?
So how many times have I read the NT then?
The 12 chosen disciples of Jesus led by the holy Spirit:
Acts 15:28-29, “For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements:
that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”
Paul:
1 Corinthians 8:7-8, “However, not all possess this knowledge. But some,
through former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
Food will not commend us to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if we do.”
Jesus:
Revelation 2:20, "But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and
is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and
to eat food sacrificed to idols."
The 6th Trumpet - Revelation 9:20-21, "And the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship the
demons, and idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood, which are neither able to see, nor to hear, nor to walk. (Psa 115:4-7, Psa 135:15-17, Dan 5:23). And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their drug sorceries, nor of their whoring, nor of their thefts.”
1 John 5:21, “Little children,
keep yourselves from idols. Amĕn.”
