The Bible was cannonized by ?
Most of the Bible translations are by?

You are confusing catholic with Roman Papism.
Although I don't agree with Catholicism. I find there will always be those who relish attacking someone because of their current denomination rather than focusing more on sharing God's word. It is those seeds through which God brings revelation. Sadly, attacks are all too often on here. However, if you can ignore them there are some nuggets of truth to be discovered. The goal of everyone of us should be to help one another.

My goal here was to learn. I could have just kept the old stereotypes and had prejudices. What I prefer to do is understand. Because sure enough there are wackadoos in every camp that gives that camp a bad name. I mean come on, if ya say Lutheran people automatically assume ELCA nut jobs with lesbian pastors, but the rest of the Lutheran Synods reject their foolishness. Why would I assume anything different about others. That there are some and mostly very public groups who call themselves Pentecostal or Baptist but indeed are not and only serve as an embarrassment.
The reason I say evangelical Catholic is because it was what Luther said. Luther's goal was to rid the church of the papal abuses, not start another church. He wanted reform, not division.

Even my view of the Roman Papists is that there are some devout Christians who love God there, but suffer the abuses and embarrassments of the pope.

Anyway the world is in a mess and us christians are gonna be in a tough time soon. We better figure out how to survive together. Even if theological differences prevent us from full fellowship.

Actually founded on the Day of Pentecost as recorded in Acts 2.
No, the pentecostal church was not before 1900.
The church, you meant is the so called body of Christ. This startet in Acts 2. Every born again believer belongs to this church.

the Book of Acts equals the first ever Church to preach the Gospel of Christ.
it's the example every church is supposed to use.
but no one has used that example for 1900 years.
shame on them!

What do you mean? Can you be more specific? You say no one has used that model for 1900 years. What is the model and what should we be doing that we're not doing?

post 1:

the debate is Tongues ends when that which is PERFECT has come.

i tend to use resources closest to the source like the Church Fathers who chose to write about this.

Irenaeus:
As therefore, when that which is perfect is come, we shall not see another Father, but Him who we now desire to see [12]

Tertullian:
refers to the visible manifestation of Jesus

Clement of Alexander:
to' teaelov is the believer's state when he see's God

Origen:
combines Verse 12 with 10 when we see Jesus [face to face]

Eusebius:
The apostle thought it necessary that the prophetic Gifts should continue in all the Church until the final Coming of Jesus

Archelaus:
"the perfect" is Jesus

Methodius:
the return of Christ and events associated with it

Ambrose:
when we are face to face with God

Jerome:
when we see the Glory of the Lord

Leo the Great:
when we see God as He really is

so as we see, the Church Fathers tells us that the PERFECT TO COME is when we see God [face to face].

none of us have seen God face to face so we can deduct that Speaking in Tongues is still active today.

***post number 2 explains why we need to Speak in Tongues***

It is my opinion that theological differences stem from individual's allowing their personal experiences to formulate a doctrine rather than accepting and pursuing the common salvation. The result is the many denominations throughout the world. According to Jude 3 we are to earnestly contend (seek) for the faith that was first delivered to the apostles.

Martin Luther certainly came against some erroneous teachings; ie, papal authority, indulgences, etc. However, the reformation (reforming) of common salvation principles found in the written word and presented on the Day of Pentecost continues. So there is still time. Praise God He is longsuffering, and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

I agree we should try to get along. But must not lose sight of the fact the bible expresses a common salvation. Many are unaware of the ecumenical and interfaith movements being championed by many religious entities. They insist theological differences don't matter. But they are wrong according to Jude 3.

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3

1 Corinthians 2:7 but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden which God ordained before the ages for our glory;
^
how do we speak mysteries?

if i preach the Gospel or what i read in the Bible, it's no mystery because it has been revealed. so how do i speak the MYSTERY of GOD.

1 Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaks in a tongue speaks not to men, but to God; for no one understands, though in spirit he speaks mysteries;
^
this is how i Speak Mysteries, the Mysteries of God!

post 3:

years ago i had debt, problems and could not get myself out of trouble to save my life.
i read one day i can only do what i can do and God will do the rest. but i did not know how to do this. then i was reading 1 Corinthians and it just made perfect sense. and then i hear another preacher teaching it and i thought ok, i need to try this.

i was looking at 250k in debt.
those i owed were after me.
i said to God, i don't know what to do, how to fix this.
i felt the Holy spirit initiate i need to speak the Mysteries of God.
i just began Praying in Tongues. every day i prayed in Tongues over this.
2 weeks later my Uncle said he wanted to help me out and gave me more than enough to cover my debt. he did not even know i had this debt. said he just felt like he was supposed to give me money.

every problem i cannot handle on my own ever since then i go to God and just Speak in Tongues.

my answers from God are a complete Mystery to me. i don't know how or where it's coming from. but it has come to me every time. i believeTongues is for Today for the purpose of Speaking the Mysteries of God!

Paul taught this 2,000 years ago.
in 1900, a rare phenom happened.
they probably never knew why it happened.
but 120 years later, i know why it happened and what the purpose for it happening.
it's to Speak the Mysteries of God and then God will reveal that mystery to each and everyone of us.

I think it is important to remember the context of 1Corthians chapters 12 through 14 is the
Gifts of the Holy Spirt". Which are for the church today, all of them. The Empowering of the Holy Spirit recorded in Acts chapter 2 is what Jesus said would happen just before he was taken UP and received in a Cloud.

You shall receive POWER to be my Witnesses. What were they to witness? The resurrected Lord and The power gifs would confirm what they said about Jesus' death, burial, and Resurrection was True.

When you say "evangelical catholic," is it safe to say you mean Luteranism is now the one true church on earth instead of the Roman church?

I dont entertain foolishness nor do I fall for the traps of the wicked.

The one true Church of God is the body of believers all who are in Christ by Grace through Faith.

It was a simple question. This response tell me a lot about your attitude toward inquiries. You said:

Luther's goal was to rid the church of the papal abuses, not start another church. He wanted reform, not division.
1. Luther didn't want to start another church.

2. He wanted to reform the old one (the supposed one true church on earth).

3. He wanted reform, not division.

I'm just going by what you said. If Lutheranism, or evangelical catholic, or whatever you want to call it is simply reformed Catholcism, how could it not be considered the one true church on earth. Did Luther do something to change that doctrine? You said Luther didn't want to cause division; it sounds like he still saw his "reformed" version as the one true church.

You sound like a pharisee trying to pigeon hole someone.
One of Luther's arguments against the pope was the condemnation of the Byzantine church. Luther argued that the eastern believers were also indeed The Church.

Why are you so afraid of questions? Why must you make it personal? Every time I try to ask you questions you get defensive and accuse me of personal attacks. Something's amiss.
