An interesting question as it highlights the fact that much of the church seems to like to rule by fear, especially the Roman Catholic Church where you have to earn your salvation. I worked alongside a very devout Catholic who went to mass every day of the week. I asked him why he did this and he said he wanted to make sure that he was going to heaven and apparently going to mass seven days a week would make this more likely. At the same time, it would reduce his time in purgatory.

I admit at one stage being good was important to me in the eyes of God until the time I went to heaven and met him. We hugged and he cried. I asked him why he cried and he said because he had been waiting for this for a long time. When I came back down to earth again I knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was crazy about me.

Since that day I have never doubted his love for me and I have never felt the need to measure up to some standard to please him. If the accuser of the brethren tries to get his hands on me, I revel in the fact that God is crazy about me. The accuser does not hang around long when I get into that mode because he has no understanding of perfect love.
Thats the most beautiful thing I can Imagine. After reading this I feel So good.🙂

My belief is a perfect love is trusting God in all things regardless of what your 5 senses tell you.
A good example of this is jesus in the wilderness.
Being led by the spirit into a unforgiving wilderness to be face to face with your enemy who is trying to bring doubt, discourse, and temptation, to a already weakened mind and body. With no sign of rescue, or preserving elements (food) (water) (shade).
Jesus standing firmly on the word of God defeats the advances of the devil knowing that he now embraces a fate far more cruel
Than starvation.

But for the joy that was set before him he endured the cross.
Some people might ask,why would anyone want to die for someone because they love them So much.

The world wants to understand GOD through fleshly things but GOD IS a SPIRIT and love which Is fruit of the HOLY SPIRIT Is and feels SO much better than money.

Jesus/Yeshua laid down His Life for us, are you telling His people that they 'owe Him nothing'???

JOHN 14:15.
If ye love Me, keep My Commandments.
21.
He that has My Commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves Me: and he that loves Me
shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.
ROM. 15:30.
Now I beseech you, brethren, for The Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for The love of The Spirit,
that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
PS. 26:11.
But as for me, I will walk in my integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
1JOHN 1:5.
This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is Light,
and in Him is no darkness at all.
6.
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the Truth:
7.
But 'if we walk in The Light', as He is in The Light, we have fellowship one with another,
and The Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleans us from all sin'.
MATT. 16:27.
For The Son of man shall come in The Glory of His Father with His angels; and then
He shall reward every man according to His works.
JOHN 14:12.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes' on Me', the Works that I do shall he do also';
and Greater Works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father. AMEN!
ACTS. 9:36.
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas:
this woman was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did.
EPH. 2:10.
For we are His workmanship, 'created in Christ Jesus unto good works', which God has before ordained
that we should walk in them'.
not by the OC law, but by Jesus Christ's NC Law, placed/written upon our hearts, which is by The Faith
that The Holy Spirit has blessed/bestowed upon us...
upon His called-elect-chosen...

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/1jn.4.18.KJV

Please explain your understanding of this verse.
Remember that GOD IS a SPIRIT,those who have been made perfect Is talking about the persons Spirit was made perfect not the mind was made perfect ,BUT a person that was made perfect by the mercies of GOD will renew their minds to the new creation they have become.

Romans 12:1-2
King James Version

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We understand and accept love between us and God, what becomes really difficult is understanding love between humans. Humans sometimes treat us inhumanly.

I am 96, the days of Hitler seem near and real to me. People with the Lord in their hearts must react to being hated. I read the writings of Corrie ten Boom, who lived in a concentration camp without succumbing to hate.

Christ showed us the way when He asked His Father to forgive those who murdered Him. We can ask the Lord to forgive others.

Matt. 18: 18Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven.…

It is strange that with a name like Grace and Truth that you don't like the truth. Perhaps a name change is in order.

I believe this is one of the hardest verses in the Bible to accept for most, because it means what it says. Most Christians explain it away. They love fear, feed off fear, love scaring others and aren't 100% sure in their salvation even when they say they are, and aren't sure if God can be discerned from satan. Here recently there was an argument that satan can heal, and do everything else God can do. What to say? Forgive the sharpness, it's a hard truth. Quite a dark mindset to live in.
Yes It means what It says but Is the perfect love discussed here talking about the perfect love GOD put In us which Is already perfect or Is the perfect love that cast out all fear talking here about the person whom now has been changed to seek to perfect themselves to match their born Again Spirit?
