There have been a number of debates about the KJV Bible recently, and they have prompted me to think about what some call Messianic Bibles. In case you are unfamiliar with them they are Bibles printed in English, but with the names of people and places written in transliterated Hebrew. Probably the most well known name is Yeshua. (Jesus). For want of a better term I call this Pigeon Hebrew. I do not read Hebrew but am interested in understanding the Jewish roots of Christianity. My nick name TANAKH is the Hebrew acronym of the Law, Prophets and Writings sections of the Jewish Bible.
It is the only Jewish term I use on site normally.

Anyway the point is why are these Bibles being used, instead of either English translations or actual Hebrew? I fail to see the point in them as even Jewish people use English translations of the TANAKH. Do owners of these Bibles feel more Jewish for reading them? Is there anyone on site who uses one regularly and if so why?

we don't think that the writers are trying so much to 'Judaize', but to give a clear
understanding from a Hebrew perspective...Just the fact that so many Jews and Gentiles
are looking for a better or clearer understanding, which in reality, for the 'whole scripture'
it takes a good understanding of the Hebrew and the Greek to comprehend the depths & riches
of God...we have found that all of the Scriptures are like a Gold-Mine, the more we look for the Gold,
the more nuggets of TRUTH we may find...

often, if one would go from country to country, they would find that the Christian Faith is practiced
in a variety of ways...they would seem to be in opposition of one another.....

Thanks for the video. My wife and I did visit a Messianic church group some time ago. It was arranged like a Synagogue with the Torah Scrolls displayed in a cabinet. They used one of these Bibles in their meeting. When the meeting was over I asked a member how many in the congregation were Jewish. The answer was that only one might be. There were about
thirty to forty people there. I was shocked at the answer because at that time I thought that it was run by Jewish converts.

I don't think the medium for that should be a translation of the Bible, since scripture is all about Christ.

I've read a few of them the most popular is by Sterns, CJB.
I believe they fill a cultural niche that most others miss but often at the expense of a shift in emphasis away from Pauline to Mosaic.
At least that is my judgment call.
