A friend of mine just told me that he has been praying for Satan that God would love him and have mercy on this enemy...
Sadly, you friend is a deluded as Satan. Jesus said that Hell (the Lake of Fire) was specifically prepared for the devil and his angels. See Revelation 20:10. Why? Because Satan is the sworn enemy -- the Adversary -- of God and man. The very name "Satan" is derived from the Hebrew for adversary -- "ha Satan". At the same time, there have been some very strange and unbiblical ideas which have been floated about this spirit being. Therefore we are to trust only what is in Scripture.

Servants in the House of God have no right to the inheritance from the Father. Forgiveness of sin is a vehicle for reconciliation: e.g. to bring back what was originally intended. According to the scriptures, what was intended was for man to rule as a representative of God in the earth. The angel Lucifer usurped man’s rule by deceiving him. Through Christ man may be reconciled to the Father. God’s eternal plan no longer includes the devil and his angels: they were never God‘s heirs to begin with. Therefore there is no need, or provision, for the forgiveness of Satan and his brood.

A friend of mine just told me that he has been praying for Satan that God would love him and have mercy on this enemy just as Jesus said he should. 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Matt 5:43&44
We are NEVER instructed to pray for the fallen angels and most especially satan.
This is dangerous and can lead to many other false teachings and deception.

"Then HE/Jesus will also say to those on the left hand,
‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:"
Matt 25:41

Fallen angels cannot be saved, forgiven or restored.

the problem with praying for satan is that Jesus only died for humans. not angels. because of this angels have no atonement for their sins.
Jesus forgave sins before cross so the cross isn't the sole way to be forgiven.

We should pray that God will do to satan as He has promised. It's best for satan because he is in his own horrible pain and misery which is why he likes to give that to world and make it suffer.

This is an interesting Idea. I don't think we know enough from the Bible to know how to handle this question. I mean God is loving. He did create Satan. Satan was originally good. So I don't know... I'm not sure that praying for him would hurt you. But I don't think it would do any good.

He was slain from the foundation of the world. In the fulness of time He died on the cross for all to see. So, payment for sin was already accomplished, before time began, in the eternal realm.

That's a very unique perspective. Asking God to demonstrate himself what he teaches us to do among one another.

Satan knows his fate. If he's an enemy of God why does he re-enter heaven and talk to God? And is allowed to do evil to us?

Doesn't that mean sin and the fall were planned?

I disagree.

Barnes:

Slain from the foundation of the world - See the notes on Rev_5:6. Compare the notes on Rev_3:5. The meaning here is, not that he was actually put to death “from the foundation of the world,” but that the intention to give him for a sacrifice was formed then, and that it was so certain that it might be spoken of as actually then occurring.

The Plan of God was that the Purpose of Christ's Sacrifice was only Determined Beforehand, from the foundation of the world.

Christ did not die twice. Not only is there zero evidence of this but the Scripture declares that Christ died only once.

For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another— He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world;
but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many.
To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

You are correct in pointing out Bible contradictions which is why you should take the essence of the Bible as a whole not just one verse here and there.
The essence of the Bible says that there’s no hope for Satan and he will be cast in fire.
Is your conclusion that we should be apathetic about hopeless cases? Would this apply to the tares of the world as well?

Your friend sounds ignorant about God and Lucifer’s relationship. Praying for human enemies is one thing, praying for a being that threw humanity into rebellion is quite another.
What makes him ignorant in one area (God's justice) makes him knowledgeable in another area, that of the depths of the mercy and grace of his God do you think?
