The prediction of the last pope to come before the Antichrist - YouTube

This is a short 18 min. video. I've done just a little research over the yrs. and have found this quite interesting to say the least. I've seen the writings of St. Malachi, and from what I've seen he has nailed everyone of the 111 popes right on the head. I don't claim this to be truth, but find it definitely worth watching, especially since there is a rumor that Ratzinger may be retiring this spring.

Anybodies thoughts, or anyone who has some true knowledge on this?

I've heard of these prophecies but haven't paid too much attention to them. I know that there have been some threads at Catholic Answers' forums discussing it. They might have more info seeing as it is about the Papacy.

Here's one link:

Well, considering most people here aren't Catholic, it's not really a subject of interest to them. And they're still controversial even amongst those of us who are Catholic.

For what it's worth, I don't honestly think the next pope will title himself Peter II, the person who's most favoured to be picked doesn't seem to be the type to choose such a controversial name.

Out of sheer curiosity, who does that look like at the moment?

Cardinal Francis Arinze is what I've heard. He's a good man.

Shalom my friend, thank you. If you click on that link again, when it brings you to the youtube page, there is a list of teachings on the right side, scroll down that list to the fourth or fifth (I think) and you'll find the "third temple prophecy" teaching. Sorry about the mix up.

Meh, the prophecies are pretty widely considered to be fraudulent anyway.

Cardinal Francis Arinze is what I've heard. He's a good man.
Possible, but Europeans are usually the ones picked and I doubt it will change anytime soon. Not only that but Benedict XVI wasn't who anyone was expecting to be elected Pope, but he was.

I've heard rumors that Ratzinger is going to retire this spring, any truth to that?
I wouldn't put much stock in that. Rumors like that tend to fly around all the time, especially with Benedict XVI since he is the last Pope before the antichrist pope for a certain crowd and for their interpretation of Daniel to fit Benedict XVI's reign must be short. The Pope is old, but he is in relatively good health.

When he was selected as Pope, he'd been praying for it not to happen. But when it happened anyways, he accepted the responsibility and I am sure he's going to see it through to the end. Especially considering how his predecessor, John Paul the Great, continued in his duties despite his many infirmities. After such a powerful example of dedication to the service of Our Lord how could Benedict not do his best to carry on till the end?

the st. malachi prophecy is a forgery...written -after- many of the popes it mentions had already reigned...giving it an appearance of accuracy...

however there is evidence that john paul ii and benedict xvi both believed in it...and attempted to orchestrate its fulfillment...

arinze as pope would do a good job of opposing the theological liberalism that has been making its way into roman catholic laity for some time now...

I had always wondered that, because I could never find through research an exact on the written as far as anyone a hundred yrs. having these detailed accounts about, like say Pope John 2

however there is evidence that john paul ii and benedict xvi both believed in it...and attempted to orchestrate its fulfillment...That I didn't know either.

arinze as pope would do a good job of opposing the theological liberalism that has been making its way into roman catholic laity for some time now...

I tend to agree that it is a forgery, but unless Blessed John Paul the Great and Pope Benedict XVI did try and fulfill their part of it (in John Paul's case this is impossible since the way he fulfilled it was by the day of his birth and where he was born), then it has been pretty accurate. Benedict could have consciously fulfilled his prophecy since it is the "Glory of the Olive" and he took the name Benedict and the Benedictines are also known as the Olivetans

arinze as pope would do a good job of opposing the theological liberalism that has been making its way into roman catholic laity for some time now...
That's been rolling back for a while now with Blessed John Paul the Great and Pope Benedict XVI. If you view the Papal election process as purely secular (which it isn't) then the deck of Cardinals is stacked for conservative Popes for a long time to come. Younger generations of Catholics are increasingly more conservative/traditionalist since the catechisis disaster has been rectified.
