I think we will be able to identify them, but I also think we will in some way know everyone

I'm not sure about the family stuff, cause I kinda think we will have another way of beeing, so that the "adult" - "child" thing won't work the same way.

...(thats just my thoughts though).

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven.

Marriage is an earthly thing. Will you recognise your spouse? I believe the bible says yes although I don't have a scrpiture for it. I remember my pastors talking about it though. I believe we get a new 'covering' (body) in heaven, so you'll know them by their spirits. But you won't be married in heaven.

Man has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the hearts of men what God has prepared for those that love him. As far as recognizing people goes, I am sure you will be able to, but beyond that who can tell the joys of heaven. Our Lord did say however that there will be no husbands or wives among the saints of heaven, but they will be like the angels.

I'm sure we will be able to identify loved ones in heaven.

Logically speaking, we know the degrees of happiness and joys we have in this world are different. That means, we can have a higher degree of happiness and there is logical possibility that there can be the highest degree of happiness too. Heaven, for me, is the state where we will have the maximum degrees of happiness, joy, fun, contentment, satisfaction, etc. For many of us, having a life partner, having children and a family may be the highest state of life we can dream of. That's why we don't like the idea of heaven with no partner, no darling, no husband and wife. If God doesn't have something better than our fondest dreams on earth, we will surely have husband and wife, children and families. If God has something better, these relationships will not be there in Heaven. In Heaven, we will not only recognize our loved ones, we will recognize even those people we meet for the first time.

I think, when we enter heaven, EVERYONE becomes our loved ones. I don't think we'll hold one single person more important to us than another. It'll be like we are angels in heaven, praising God, and living in His glory, and that we'll all be brothers and sisters again in front of our Father. I think we'll recongnize everyone as a brother and a sister, not a mother, or a father, or a husband, or an aunt. Simply, we'll all recognize each other as other children of God.

We will recognize our loved ones. If we read the parable abut the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31 we see that the rich man recognized not only Lazarus but also Abraham. The rich man never met Abraham but he recognized him. One point to notice though is that the rich man was in Hell. Abraham and Lazarus were in a place of reward.

Lazarus was separated from heaven but a gulf has been fixed. At this point the white throne judgment has not taken place. After the judgment death and Hades are thrown into the lake of fire. Then there is a complete separation and no remembrance of the former things. This is in Revelation 20.

We will know everyone in heaven. My other point in telling this is the importance of telling others the gospel because those we know who are also in hell will know what could have been as we see from the parable. They will still pray and know what could have been but there will be no answer.

I see it this way - the Groom is coming for His Bride, the Christians. We will be married to Christ. We will be as one.. all of us. There is no marriage in heaven as we see it, but marriage of us with Christ. We will recognize each other in spirit but no one will be closer to one than they are to the rest. We will all be a part of the Bride, and we will love each other as the Groom loves the Bride. :D

Some will be closer than others. Jesus chooses who gets to sit at his right and left. It will be more like a polite, civil and loving society than a "new age orgy" as just described LOL. Recognising each other in spirit is only temporary until the resurrection when we get bodies again.

I dontlike to think of our relationship to Christ in terms of earthly marriage, but the other way around - think of earthly marriage as reflecting Christ and His church.

I know the word says, that in heaven we are neither male nor female, nor are we given in marriage.

It says in Christ there is no male or female to mean one is not greater than the other. It doesn't really say about "in heaven". I think we will still retain sexual characteristics.

Yes, but what is a Christian prayer? "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven"

So you see God's Kingdom is coming to earth and our will should be like His will which is; "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven"

New Age? Dude.. never connect me with new age. That is completely offensive. I do not take kindly to that.

You connected yourself to new age by what you said. Don't you know that we will be resurrected and receive fleshly bodies. Not live in a utopian loving existance with everyone in our "spiritual bodies" and everyone "married" to Christ - I'm not a homosexual.
