On the pope, I'm with you anyone like him who thinks when he speaks it trumps what JESUS says is a problem and of course NOT OF GOD.

No doubt the catholic church suppressed people, but today that does not come into play.

What comes into play is people will NOT ACCEPT HIS word so they start churches with their personal beliefs and not HIS word.

Like, say this prayer and your saved.
Or we are saved by grace or faith alone do anything else is a work.
Or Paul preached a different message.
Or being baptized is for show the list goes on ALL NOT BIBLE.

I did notice you didn't answer any of the questions I asked.

Have you ever searched what different church's foundation is?

ALMOST EVERYONE they do everything in JESUS name EXCEPT being baptized.

How many of them are true JESUS disciples and have been filled with the Holy Ghost like JESUS filled HIS DISCIPLES in Acts 2:4? And in every case of showing how to be reborn in the book of Acts they were filled the same way.

Most church's don't use the book of Acts as a foundation or even speak of speaking in tongues.

It is a part of being reborn!!! JESUS said in John 3:5 we need to be born of WATER and of SPIRIT.
Yes, RC experienced a reformation in part, finally ending the Inquisition in 1964 as part of Vatican II.

Yes, people need to learn from 1Cor. 3 NOT to be form divisive denominations, even by disagreeing about WB.

It is problematic to base doctrine on historical passages like Acts instead of doctrinal Scripture such as the epistles.

IMO John 3:5 refers to being born physically (when the water breaks at birth) and spiritually (via saving faith).
